Re: Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

Handy for someone who likes to troll you sure do have a glass jaw! I do wonder though for all your self admitted expertise in all things why you choose to work for chump change teaching remedial English in reform school to a bunch of bored 7th graders. :D

Now kindly go back to telling us how you have the wisdom and experience of a real life DA Adam Schiff from the original Law & Order show because a couple of your distant relatives used to work the ambulance chasing circuit back in the 70's. This should be almost as good as when you had the knowledge to pull down 10M a year as a major bank executive due to your ability to navigate the drive up teller window on several occasions. ;)

Re: Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

Wow...that was sad even for you. Please tell me you arent actually thinking when you type this tripe out. Even trixie was more on point than you :D

But, since your testosterone count apparently needs it, I am quitting this cat fight you seem hellbent on winning. You may declare yourself the victor and brag to all of USCHO about it! It was a truly amazing effort...they shall sing songs of your masterful ability to be so bad at something people quit just to get you to shut up :D

Re: Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

Other than reading whatever source you read on the subject, do you have experience prosecuting cops?

I think the rules are that if you play the "...if you've never done it you can't comment on it" card, you automatically lose the thread. Besides, if internet forums were not make up of people posting things about which they know anywhere from 0% to 100% internet forums would cease to exist.

Sounds good Handy. I'm outta here from some takeout and some bourbon anyway.

Re: Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

I have enough lawyers in my family (and former lawyers) to know he is absolutely right.

Maybe, but I've got a shytload of MDs and engineers in my tree, and I don't know the first thing about either of them. I have no problem conceding that you probably learn a lot quicker than I do though. :D

Well yeah you are from NoDak and live in Wisconsin. I believe they just got 56k dial up in both those places :)

Btw last night I mentioned (for those that were up) that I had a connection to what was going on. My cousins shop was looted and pretty much destroyed. At first my mother told me he was the one who shot the looter but I corrected her quickly through some research. I used to work at another shop of his back in the day he is well liked in the community. (or at least was). Sucks. I doubt he recovers.

Re: Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

By the way, everyone who is freaked out by the decision to charge the cop with 3rd degree murder rather than 2nd degree murder, the sentence the guy is going to get would be the same anyway, unless they could show intent to murder.

People get all hung up on the maximum sentence and minimum sentence language in the statutes, but it doesn't work that way. There are specific sentencing guidelines and it's really hard to depart from them.

Here is the sentencing grid, and both are level 10.

If anyone is still skeptical, have them check with Handy's relatives. :D

Same thing with the Chicago cop in the Laquan McDonald case.

There's your acquittal. City's gonna burn twice.

Re: Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

It also says he kept his weight on him for almost three minutes after he was unresponsive, so I wouldn't be so convinced.

Honest question...are people legit freaking out? I didn't think twice about it when I read it.

Re: Cops 7: What Could Go Wrong?

Interesting.

I don't think the autopsy guarantees an acquittal but it backs up the idiotic statement Freeman made yesterday.

I'd bet you can get a hung jury with a marginally intelligent defense attorney now. Only need one.

Do we even know what the complaints against the cop were? .

To be honest I know less than nothing. I admit I was just extrapolating a worst-case guess based on a couple of headlines I scrolled past, for the pleasure of winding up Minnesotans. I feel bad now. But in my defense, Klobuchar is also a bad person and should not have supervisory power over anyone.

There are, but not on here. I've brought it up, but freaking out would be a stretch. But I also don't necessarily think Hovey is calling out people here.

Yeah I haven’t seen anyone bent out of shape here but I know a lot of people are tuned into other media so I thought I’d post it.

Also, I never suspected Floyd died of asphyxiation or strangulation. People are too tied to the “I can’t breathe” plea. I wouldn’t be surprised if the knee cut off flow of blood to the brain.
