Re: Cops 5: Barney Fife, Now in Real Life!

I'm sure there are examples of such but cops behaving correctly isn't newsworthy.

Imagine if all liberals were judged on some of our posters and their views.

Wait...

Re: Cops 5: Barney Fife, Now in Real Life!

It is so cute the attorney for the cops is saying the sex was consensual...there is no such thing as consenting while in police custody. Not a good defense because if they admit to the sex they are going away for a long *** time.

Except in NY, apparently...from the same article:
The penal code prohibits sex between a corrections officer and an inmate, and between a parole officer and a parolee, but there’s no such provision about a police officer and an arrestee, Treyger said.

While they are also being charged with accepting sex as a bribe, I'm willing to bet the penalty for that is much less than rape.

Re: Cops 5: Barney Fife, Now in Real Life!

So the Miami fan barely grazes the cop - certainly not a "slap" - and he is one of at least 3 jumbo cops that are handling this woman and he cold cocks her and we get crickets around here?

This is an actual case of excessive force.

Is there something different about this case from all of the others?

Oh...

It's hard to follow what this thread is supposed to be about.

I have a feeling that attorneys are lining up to defend this woman in her "assault" defense and they'll be looking for a settlement.

If you're rude to a cop they're allowed to stab you in the face.

Because law and order.

While I agree it's excessive force she was resisting. What gets my dander up is when guys are clearly giving up and they get shot, beat up anyway. I'm sure she'll litigate it and she may win something but I don't feel one bit sorry for her.

I don't feel sorry for her.

Just looking for some consistency.

And a (wasted) drunk petite woman resisting?

Cuff her and walk her out.

Problem solved, lawsuit and bad press averted.

Yeah, I wouldn't have punched her. It looks like they had no choice but to drag her from her seat.

Re: Cops 5: Barney Fife, Now in Real Life!

Even if we don't approve of her actions, would it really be so hard to feel sorry for her? Isn't that what empathy is for?

I see a drunken eejit chick. I don't see somebody who deserves to get cold cocked by a man.

The f-ck is wrong with people?

You know how you always whine to Rover about his hyperbole and misrepresentation of things...

Maybe I didn't say it right.

I don't feel sorry for her, but I'm disgusted that a 200+ pound man punched a woman in the face when it clearly wasn't necessary to do so.

If she had a knife and was trying to stab him? Punch away.

Agreed.

Exactly. The cop isnt right to punch her, but I have zero sympathy for a drunk chick slapping a cop. She got punched, meanwhile if she was a black dude how does this play out? That gets my sympathy.

If it plays out exactly the same, it's no different, right?

I get that you feel that maybe they go Rodney King on him, but if all things are equal, the action should be the issue.

That said, if this is a black woman and those are white cops and all other circumstances are exactly the same, this would be a national story.

Which is garbage.
