Re: Cop trys to handcuff a 17 yr old, is he over the line?
Clever. I see what you did there.
He shoulda thrown some rocks at them.

the cop could very well have found several guys willing to jump in to defend her. Just saying.

5m_major himself told us so.
Not taking sides on right or wrong here, but I honestly believe hauling off and punching a woman in the face is way, way more likely to inflame the situation than to get it under control. The cop could very well have found several guys willing to jump in to defend her. Just saying.
If it's going to escalate that way, that's why they carry guns. Not saying I want to see someone get shot, but if you start going after a cop, you're begging to get your *** kicked, get tazed, or get shot. It's just an incredibly bad idea in general.
I can't think of a SINGLE scenario where I'd jump into a fight against a cop.
...and then there's xyz's typical contribution loaded with factual errors.
Don't like it...don't speak nonsense.
Hey, you're the one who cited the average height of Mexicans and Whites in attempt to imply that gringo can hurl stones better because they are, on average, taller. Don't like it...don't speak nonsense.
Ah...you must be talking about my reference of a Mexican government study on the demographics of its citizens...regarding the liklihood that a 14 yo kid from Mexico was over 6 feet tall.

When you put it in your own words...well it sounds like you have some sort of distain for certain races.
C How can you believe we are so incompetent that a single 14 yo can endanger the life of a fully trained FBI agent with a firearm from the better part of 100 yards away? I really do want to know...from someone, anyone. (This is what happened based on CNN reports of video taken from the scene and available everywhere on the net.)
Um, because there are procedures, rules, and regulations in place for FBI agents (and cops, etc etc).
So yes, anyone can basically endanger the life of an agent. It's only at a certain level of threat can the agent react.
Sure...the usual regulations are there for good purpose and this may or may not sneak into the procedural leeway given to enforcement.
But based on what we know...there is little evidence it was 'the right thing to do' based on US society norms as true self defense doesn't appear to have been an issue.
Indeed if this is inappropriate behavior that's allowed to allowed to go unpunished due to what consider is a technicality...in addition to a death, important security measures and leeway for enforcement could well come under attack.
And from what I've heard/read, the number of people involved, and the actions involved.....he was within his rights/rules allowances to fire.
And I must remind all others, this was very unfortunate. I wish a life wasn't lost. However, if the accidental result was a consequence of everything done legal-like, than so be it. Still sad, but won't persecute.

the agent felt he must kill the kid
