Congratulations Trinity!

Re: Congratulations Trinity!

Trinity was by far the best team that I saw on the ice this year at the Kenyon. I remarked to my fiance that I thought that they might go all the way to a National championship; well done Trinity!

Re: Congratulations Trinity!

Congrats to Trinity for bringing the hardware back East. Interesting to see the final two teams leagues wanted to play in their own sandbox a few years back!

Re: Congratulations Trinity!

Congrats to Trinity from the UConn Hockey fans!!!! We have fond memories of our years in the ECAC East playing Trinity at least once and sometimes twice a year. Huge Accomplishment guys!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats again!!!!

Re: Congratulations Trinity!

Very happy to see Trinity win the trophy, especially considering how badly they were screwed last year by the NCAA.

Re: Congratulations Trinity!

Their SOS wasn't good. They didn't get screwed last year.

By the NCAA's own rankings, Trinity went from #1 in the East one week before the selections to nowhere, on the basis of one loss... You can't have it both ways. (Unless you're the NCAA.)

Let's get back on topic here. Trinity won the tournament. Give them their props without bringing up irrelevant topics. There were 10 participants who didn't and 63 more teams that didn't make the tourney at all. There are plenty of other places to discuss the selection procedure.

It is somewhat relevant as a case of (perceived?) poetic justice. IF you believe they were screwed last year, this year's title is even sweeter.

Re: Congratulations Trinity!

Congrats to Trinity...you are a very hard working and skilled group..
Also, salute to the other teams, who produced three very enjoyable games to cap off my D3 hockey season..

Re: Congratulations Trinity!

"Who are these guys??"

Congratulations Bantams, good hockey! Took you guys to bring the hardware back east.

Re: Congratulations Trinity!

Just to clear things up for those of you who actually want to acknowledge, understand, comprehend, and learn about the system that creates the DIII Mens Championship field, 1 loss by your team, 1 win by your team, 1 loss by another team, 1 win by another team, and simply just sitting idle and having other teams around you win and or lose 1 game CAN and DOES significantly determine your rank/position in the field due to the criteria the committee uses and the fact most teams in the Top 8-10 are so close ONE loss and/or win CAN and DOES change things...add in upsets in conference tournaments and on the flip side the predicted teams winning, it can free up and or eliminate Pool C bids and reshuffle the teams in the running for a Pool C bid.

...and to add more to what Prez said, Trinity's Coach acknowledged their SOS hurt their chances at the tournament last year and a major reason why they are upping their NC schedule (we've already heard Trinity to Norwich Tourn.)

Re: Congratulations Trinity!

In keeping with NESCAC traditions, shouldn't the title be "Congradulations Trinity"?

I'm allowed to comment on Trinity on this thread. That's the point. It's all about the Bantams right now, as it ought to be.

And, IIRC, Trinity was the only Eastern team in the KRACH top-eight, but were left-out last year... More reason to feel good about them getting a full measure of vindication this season, and (further) illustrating how mindless the NCAA process can be.
