The puppies got a couple of extra cookies last night, since the two points Lowell got at the game they were at ... were key to winning the league! :D

As a River Hawk "charter member" (my freshman class was the first to use the bird mascot in 1995), it is truly humbling to read the congratulatory remarks from not only Hockey East but from the across the rest of the country as well. We will know shortly if this is the sign of bigger things to come, but knowing that at least one banner will be raised to the rafters for the first time in D-I history is such a surreal experience and has not really yet sunk in.

To answer Mookie's question...

After the game on November 30th, the River Hawks were in deep trouble. I was so sure that the final weekend was going to settle a road playoff seeding and at best, home-ice, I gave up my tickets for this final weekend and booked a trip to NYC.

Another way of looking at it is this. How many of your would have taken the bet that Lowell would win HE .and. the UNH Wildcats would be on the road for the HE QFs. Most of us would have lost our shirts except I can think of some in Durham that would have made a tidy little profit. :p ;) :D

This is fun!

PS:

Two things that I know as a result of this weekend. My girlfriend is very happy I took her to NY to see one of her favorite shows and the collection is underway by the River Hawk faithful on the boards here to ship my ***** out of town for the final regular season yet against next season. :)

From a fan of the team right across the river, congratulation to the Riverhawks of UML...that was some 2nd half run you guys went on...Congrats!!! Good luck in the both tournaments.

Oh yeah, in case you didn't hear, this has caused BU's coach Jack Parker to announce that, out of the shame of Umass Lowell getting #1, he is retiring after this year. A Ray Lewis moment, of sorts.

Well done Lowell from a 45 year UNH season ticket holder .... maybe we will meet up down the road in 2013 ..........
