Re: Conference Tournament Results: March 2nd through March 5th

Cornell 3 SLU 1

Clarkson vs Cornell for all the marbles on Sunday.

Cornell making the NCAA tournament appears to now come down to either pulling off another upset tomorrow or, failing that, for BC to not choke against whomever the play tomorrow.

BC recap: http://www.bcinterruption.com/bosto...-semifinal-final-score-4-3-vermont-catamounts

Everything has fallen BC's way so far to get home ice... if UMD and BU both win today, BC will get home ice with a win tomorrow.

If BU and UMD don't win, BC can still get home ice with a few other (slightly more difficult) combinations.

Lastly, Minnesota can really upset the bracket apple cart by winning the WCHA. That would give all three WCHA teams home ice.

I think Minnesota has clinched a spot... but BC has not yet. Edit: BC needs a BC win, or a Cornell loss to Clarkson.

Minnesota andUMD scoreless after a period. The Gophers are playing really well, and had rhe better chances along with a 17-6 edge in shots.

Gophers and Bulldogs going to overtime. Both teams had glorious chances in the last minute. Overall, Minnesota has had the better of the play.

Re: Conference Tournament Results: March 2nd through March 5th

Minnesota and Duluth tied at 1 heading to a second OT.

Some great saves by both goalies in the first OT, but MN certainly had the edge in quality scoring chances.

Re: Conference Tournament Results: March 2nd through March 5th

Going to a second overtime. Shots were 20-8 in that period and the Gophers dominated for long stretches. Minnesota started matching up Piazza/Scipper/Reilly on the Dogs top line and it seemed to work.

Re: Conference Tournament Results: March 2nd through March 5th

Somehow Peters made a save that kept the puck out of the net that they even reviewed.

Re: Conference Tournament Results: March 2nd through March 5th

UMD scores at 8:31 of the 2nd OT - on a goal knocked in from cross-bar level.

Looks like it will be quite the rematch next weekend in Duluth.

Re: Conference Tournament Results: March 2nd through March 5th

That is a bad way to lose on a goal that is questionable from the standpoint of making that decision.

The same problems that have been an issue all year with not converting chances and turning the puck over too much. Peters did play well so that is encouraging.

UMD has a quick turnaround facing Wisconsin early tomorrow. Both goalies tonight were spectacular.

Re: Conference Tournament Results: March 2nd through March 5th

That's about right. I thought from the replay it was probably too high, but it wasn't clear enough to overturn the original goal call.

They already have an overhead camera; so when do we get the crossbar cam? :D
