College Hoops 2017. Hoosier Daddy? Wildcat strike? The Butler did it?

Re: College Hoops 2017. Hoosier Daddy? Wildcat strike? The Butler did it?

Here is the ****ing part:

Also says Miles Bridges' mother got hundreds of dollars in advances. Michigan State sucks. Oh and Dawkins had dinner with Izzo as well...have fun in retirement fraud.

...Utah? Really?

Re: College Hoops 2017. Hoosier Daddy? Wildcat strike? The Butler did it?

May be CBS will have to televise the D3 tournament.

Re: College Hoops 2017. Hoosier Daddy? Wildcat strike? The Butler did it?

Again, those SCHOOLS are not implied to have done anything in this latest article. If the NCAA wanted to do something for this season, they could sit those PLAYERS. That isn't going to change much. And to go beyond that, as is pointed out here, most of the "benefits" were loans (sure they may never have been paid back, but that's missing evidence at this point).

Edit: Link requires the four letter word for poo

Re: College Hoops 2017. Hoosier Daddy? Wildcat strike? The Butler did it?

The thing is, nothing in that article said the schools were involved. Players at those schools were, but there was nothing indicating the schools/coaches were a part of it. Not saying they weren't, but so far all they have shown is agents trying to sign kids early with bribes.

Even if you assume the coaches didnt know (hah!) the players were ineligible by rule (unless they took less than $200 than they can donate to charity or some such nonsense) so every game they played should be forfeited.

Loans dont matter...it is an improper benefit as such the player is disqualified. (plus these guys are agents)

Re: College Hoops 2017. Hoosier Daddy? Wildcat strike? The Butler did it?

Not if the players have the Cam Newton defense.

Is that what Bridges is going to do since technically his mom got it ;)

I assume the Cam defense is he had no idea his dad got paid...wasnt that the story? Didnt Ole Miss offer him like $130k and he still chose Auburn?

Re: College Hoops 2017. Hoosier Daddy? Wildcat strike? The Butler did it?

Let's get this party started!

FBI has wiretaps of Arizona coach Sean Miller talking $100K payment to lock in a recruit.

Feds have 3000 hours of wiretapped conversations. Lordy.

Here is the Link

Ayton, a 7-foot-1 center who was born in the Bahamas, is considered one of the top freshmen in the country and a leading candidate for national player of the year honors. He is averaging 19.6 points and 10.9 rebounds in what is expected to be his only college season, helping the No. 14 Wildcats take a 1½-game lead in the Pac-12 standings with three regular-season games to play.

You can vacate that real quick...

edit: How dumb are these contracts? "If Miller is fired for cause, his contract is written in such a way that he would still receive more than 85 percent of the money he is owed through May 31, 2022."

Just gonna leave this mic right here. No need to drop it. That's showmanship.....

Re: College Hoops 2017. Hoosier Daddy? Wildcat strike? The Butler did it?

Deadspin is going to have their panties in more of a wad than normal when they hear this story.

Re: College Hoops 2017. Hoosier Daddy? Wildcat strike? The Butler did it?

At this point, I don't see change coming....

Yes, some coach's careers will end along with some ADs and administrators. But new people will replace them. And the standing order will be "keep revenue up, but don't get caught this time".
Pretty much. The NCAA is a walking contradiction. Amateurism in general is a nonsensical concept especially when there's this much money involved.

A big chunk of the list are guys who got like a $100 dinner, the NCAA isn't going to chop their own balls off over that. No chance Duke, UNC and the like are kept out of the tourny over a meal one of their players received from an agent. Arizona on the other hand...

Yeah the meal guys should be fine cause it is under $200...everyone who got more than that though better start praying. And they better hope their phone wasnt tapped...

Re: College Hoops 2017. Hoosier Daddy? Wildcat strike? The Butler did it?

They don't really seem to care.

Unrelated note:
If I gotta see "Why is the FBI investigating this instead of going after school shooters" one more time... Like the FBI only has five people on staff.

Seriously...if they just read the story they would know the FBI wasnt looking into basketball they stumbled upon it while looking into I believe money laundering.

Someone else posted that article. And that’s what I was referring to when I said they’ll have their panties in a wad even more than normal. They just despise everything ncaa. Their articles on it are basically sortyhy of a standing eye roll.
