College Football 2025

Depending on how much the committee wants to penalize Bama for their game yesterday, the ACC may miss the playoffs entirely. With 8-5 Duke winning the conference, I don’t see how they move ahead of 12-1 JMU for the 5th auto bid. Hopes rest on a Miami at-large.

ESPN will make sure bama was in. They were trying to make a case for one of their teams over IU had they lost. Or penalize IU for losing, but not bama.

do they have a way to go beyond top 25 for conference winners?

Is it really that simple? God knows I will never complain about ND not having the benefit of media $$$.
 
I am not normally in the business of feeling sorry for ND, but having just gone through it two years ago - FOR THE EXACT F***ING SAME TEAM TO GET IN - I’m extremely sympathetic
 
So, ah, then the 12 team playoff isn’t enough? Lol!!!

It was so funny that the expansion was sold as a way to make sure those who deserved to get in can. Hilarious that the actual conversation isn’t about the one team out of the 4, it’s the multiple teams screwed by the 12.
 
I'm guessing they really didn't want to leave a P4 conference out entirely. And with Duke messing that up, they shoehorned Miami in despite being ranked lower in every previous release of the rankings. Had Virginia won, I think they would have left Miami out and ND in.

Of course the SEC still thinks they are the only ones that even belong in the playoff....
