Also the fans that show up to their away games who I'm pretty sure have never been within 100 miles of the state of Indiana.

That's a positive for Notre Dame. Let me explain.

"The Subway Alumni" includes my Dad. He converted to Catholic to marry my Mom. He always wanted to feel more organically part of the faith and, for an orphan street kid who hadn't been raised with a faith or church, he reached for any connection to Catholicism, even the fact that the Irish were on TV a few times a year.

It was not being a front runner, it was desperately needing community. In turn, I maintain my fandom to remember my Dad, because for two people who disagreed on almost everything it was an unproblematic thing that we were totally united on.

So please think that over.

I grant you and him exceptions, though, versus all of the green-gold bead wearing yahoos who only show up when ND is ranked in the top 10. (Granted, I'm sure the Stanford Athletic Department doesn't mind. They always hold that game during Thanksgiving weekend when the students are out of town for a re*****$on.)

Jonathan Taylor wins the Doak Walker Award and first team All American honors as a sophomore. A philosophy major who passed up a chance to play for Harvard. Good to be reminded that there are some outstanding minds out there playing (and excelling at) college football.

LOL. You are completely wrong. Starting with ND fans, anybody who watches one SC game per year knows full well how mind numbingly terrible it is.

The other awful thing about SC games is the networks will always find a way to pan the Trojans cheerleaders for upskirt videos.
