Even in a loss, I don't Lamar Jackson hurt his Heisman hopes one bit tonight.

This was one hell of a game.

What a rollercoaster of a game...Great effort by both sides. Clemson looked in control at half, but Louisville made some great plays and took all the momentum by midway through the fourth. Clemson has the heart of a champion though, and came back with a pair of TDs to take the lead. Louisville nearly came back, but reminiscent of the Clemson-Notre Dame game last season, the Tigers came up with just enough defense to hold of the Cardinals. Whew...Go Tigers!

Given that, Louisville should be considered for the Playoff if they and Clemson both win out. Two great teams were on the field tonight at Death Valley.

Looking a lot like 2012 again.

I feel ya, sir.

Iowa is getting dominated along both lines of scrimmage. Not sure that can be fixed that much more. They returned a ton of key players and have struggled with the "easy part" of their schedule. Iowa can't stop the run, or protect the QB.

Minnesota might run for 250 on Saturday. Not a good start.

One bright spot, Desmond King is a fantastic player. Lots of fun to watch.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

Seems unlikely, but it wouldn't necessarily surprise me.

I think Nebraska's recruiting footprint has traditionally been Nebraska, western Iowa, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana, with the occasional kid sprinkled in from California, Florida or other states. It's not like they've got a bunch of Pennsylvania, Michigan or Ohio kids on their roster, or that they're even going after those kids.

Also, Nebraska football fans like to travel to see their team. A lot closer destination if you're just driving down to Austin, TX, than if you have to go out to New Jersey or Happy Valley.

Nebraska the institution doesn't give a crap about fan travel. They care about money and control. There are still tons of hard feelings about the Big XII basically being run by Texas, and the Longhorn Network was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

I'm reading it as Texas and OU both leaving.

This is too weird to be true, and too dumb to false.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

And if Texas wants a 20 team conference, where are these teams coming from? They're going to be scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

Maybe Nebraska just wants to go to a conference it's easier to win in. They aren't the big dogs anymore.

Honestly, that was my first thought. They are one of the most reactionary schools there is. And everything is measured against Tom Osborne. They almost elected that guy governor of the state.

Re: College Football 2016-17: Destination Tampa

The money is getting so big that it is affecting the brains of college administrators.

Will we soon see a "Premier League" of 5 12 team conferences with the champions playing off? The money will be huge which will induce more stupidity.

Basketball will follow. Even more stupids.

When will a college coach get $10 million a year + benefits. Never mind the Nobel Prize winning faculty member or the professor that inspires students to defy convention and make the world a better place. After all, this is FOOTBALL!!!

That's what they should do though. Just break off the top 60, let them do whatever the hell they want. That's where we're going, may as well get it done with.

So, who are the 60?
