Going to be a late night for OK State and Tulsa. Lightning and tornado warnings have delayed what was scheduled to be a 10PM ET start. It's now looking like a midnight kickoff. They desperately want to get this game in as they couldn't schedule a makeup date until December 10. The game will be televised on most Fox Sports Net stations.

ESPN reporting that at least *8* other schools have inquired about joining the ACC.

Warm ups for the OK State - Tulsa game will commence around 11:55 local time, with kickoff at close to 12:30AM. If there is another lightning strike, the game will be canceled and not made up. So here on the east coast they should be wrapping things up around dawn.

There was a lightning strike just before the announcement, but apparently no one who matters noticed...

If they don't hurry up the NFL will probably sue them for encroachment on TV rights...

Stanford extends the longest winning streak in the country to 11 with a win over Arizona, 37-10.

USA Today reports that the ACC accepted Syracuse and Pitt *Saturday morning* and there is supposed to be an announcement today.

That was fast.

ETA: ESPN reports that the ACC called Coach K and Roy Williams and both said they wanted to expand to 16 with two divisions of eight. Based on the fact that the ACC is taking advice from the basketball coaches and the conference is best-known for hoops, I'll predict they go for Kansas and K-State for their hoops teams. If Kansas and KSU aren't joined at the hip, the ACC could pick up Mizzou instead.

Considering there are at least 8 other schools in the mix, pretty much everyone is on the short list. :p

My BC friends on Twitter are giving me flak for the Kansas/KSU prediction. I just keep mentioning Duke :D

This whole thing does make notre dame & Texas to the ACC makes more sense. Otherwise maybe both go to big east after it loses the rest f it's football schools.

I realize that Cuse and Pitt had to do this, but the timing stinks with the passing of Big East founder Dave Gavitt. They could've waited a week to announce the move. It's like showing up to a family gathering a week after a divorce with your new girlfriend.

Kansas* is the first thing I think of when I hear Atlantic Coast. ;)

*Yes, I know geography means nothing in the fluid (slimy?) world of conference realignment, this just struck me as funny.... :D

God ****ing dammit I hate the ACC's backwards obsession with basketball and its 10% of the money pie. Kentucky football makes 4x the money that Kentucky basketball does.

If the ACC was making a move for football prowess, they wouldn't have invited Syracuse and Pitt.

Texas, TT, OU, and OSU are finalizing an agreement with the Pac-12.

So if you're TCU, do you go for an annulment?

What about the "minor sports" of the ACC? Baseball, softball, track and field, golf? What do SYR and PIT bring to the table?

ACC has currenly 4 lax schools. Syracuse makes 5 and they need one more for an AQ.
