446 total yards and 5 TDs will get you in that conversation, 11/24 and 3 INT notwithstanding, especially when you throw 2 TD passes in the final 72 secconds.

On the one hand, his throwing was terrible; ND's atrocious secondary mistakes gave him every one of his passing TDs except the last one (which was set up by a defensive breakdown).446 total yards and 5 TDs will get you in that conversation, 11/24 and 3 INT notwithstanding, especially when you throw 2 TD passes in the final 72 secconds.

But it almost doesn't matter because he's so unbelievably dangerous running that you have to alter every aspect of your defensive game to guard against it every play. If Heisman means a guy who be more entertaining than everyone else, then he should be considered. Half backs win the Heisman all the time; that's essentially what he is.
The single best thing about this game was the officials' throwback caps. They were awesome.Plus it was prime time on national TV vs Notre Dame. That will get some attention.

I wasn't very entertained....Fixed that. May the Forcier be with you.

But yes, your point is well taken. Being fun gets you in the discussion, and he's fun (except right now).
Yeah, I understand that. Michigan certainly wouldn't have won tonight without him.
But it's like all of a sudden everyone has forgotten how this exact same thing happened last season. How did that wind up? You have to figure at some point the "throw the ball as high as I can and hope" strategy is going to start to turn out poorly.
It was a great drive and the kid had stones, but good God what was Michigan thinking on the Jones TD? That coverage looked like the 1962 Mets outfield.Had you won, your Freshman QB would be near the top of the list. With that final drive? Ignore all of those bad passes and that horrific dropped ball to pass- that was a great drive by Notre Dame.
Next year's freshman are going to be 9? No wonder we have problems on the O line.If the WWL and other remembered what happened from year to year, they'd stop ranking Notre Dame in the top 15. Next year's freshmen in South Bend will have never been alive for a nationally relevant Irish team.

IIRC, ND was #1 or #2 going into the (inevitable, annual) BC loss in 2002.
I can't believe I'm saying this because Michigan is only not Satan because they aren't from Florida, but I loved the Wolverines' throwbacks. Infinitely superior to their Anne-Coulter-ugly normal unis.Well, it sure as hell wasn't the jerseys for either team.
Fair enough.By law, a Ty Willingham coached team cannot be considered national relevant.

Having said which, it was ridiculous to rank ND in this year's preseason polls. They looked promising, which you can probably say about 40 teams every August.
That's what should happen when you lose to BC.By the end of the year Notre Dame was ranked 19.
