College Footbal 2009: Anybody want to be in the Top 5?

Re: College Footbal 2009: Anybody want to be in the Top 5?

It's just further confirmation that you have to have a name to get anywhere in BCS football, or be friends with someone that does.

Is there anybody, anywhere who doesn't know the BCS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the BCS Conferences and Notre Dame?

I root for the Boise States and Cincinnatis every year to burn the whole sucker down. It will only take once.

Cincinnati is still in the Big East.

Eh, it could still work. I mean, you have to figure the BCS conferences aren't really in it to protect ALL of their teams - just the ones that make them some $$$ come bowl time. If Cincinnati tries to stick its nose in among the big boys, I'd still bet there would be a shakeup - though not necessarily for the better!

If they do that they might as well just take the teams they want to win a championship and make one big conference were the two best teams at the end of the year play for the championship.

Re: College Footbal 2009: Anybody want to be in the Top 5?

The Big 12 is horrendous this year. The Big Ten is a superior conference this season top to bottom.

The Big 12 is the second worst BCS conference this year only behind the Big East. And the Big East has a better top team: Cinci is much better than Texas.

The ACC, Pac 10, Big 10 and SEC are much better than the Big 12. This year its Texas and no one else.

Its amazing how much USC has to go through because they lost one game on the road to their former DC and OC while having to play with their backup QB who still had a fractured tibula.

I understand the computers hating them because there is nothing in there for "lost with backup QB" but I think USC can hang with anyone. If USC can't play for a title I want the SEC runner up to stomp.

I'm not sure if I would go as far as to say Cinci is much better than Texas, but Brian Kelly is one hell of a coach who somehow gets his player to play a lot better then they should play and eventually he will win a couple national championships somewhere.

Uh, USC is the highest ranked one loss team in the country.

Re: College Footbal 2009: Anybody want to be in the Top 5?

USC is ranked low by most if not all of the computers. The Polls understand the one loss on the road with the back-up QB. But the computers don't get that. ;)

Yeah. They're ranked behind undefeated teams. They're only the 2nd highest ranked one loss team. Clearly a screw job. Ironically, the only other one loss team they're behind is Oregon. If they're all that, they should rectify that themselves.

Re: College Footbal 2009: Anybody want to be in the Top 5?

Especially since Jesse Smith is like 5 and half feet tall. Jed Perkerewicz running around the end and walking into the endzone untouched was a thing of beauty too...

Bitter, party of one, Bitter, party of one.....:D

BK already has a few NC rings anyways. All he would really get here is a bowl win ring. It will just get to be a pretty **** fancy bowl ring. And I bet even if he does some how manage to luck into the NC game, he'll tell ya straight up that he would rather settle it via a PLAYOFF.

Not likely. The big fear I have is that ND fires Front Butt Gutt and sends dumptrucks worth of money down to Cincy.

They've had a lot of success very quickly, anybody have any perspective on what kind of program he runs? Are they going to be all set when he leaves or one step away from probation?
