College Basketball 2016-17: Destination Phoenix

Re: College Basketball 2016-17: Destination Phoenix

Tough final sequence for the Zags. Great D by Meeks.

At least that game was close because it was one of the ugliest ones I've ever seen.

Re: College Basketball 2016-17: Destination Phoenix

Well, if it makes you feel any better I'm sure every team that's made the Final Four since 1980 has been cheaters.

On the scale of UNC? And what little action has been taken? Makes me sick.

Re: College Basketball 2016-17: Destination Phoenix

The UNC Men's team victory moves them up to # 5 in most Division I Basketball Championships, and a tie for 5th in most appearances in the title game:

UConn, 15-0 (men 4-0, women 11-0)
UCLA, 11-2 (men 11-2, women 0-0)
Tennessee, 8-5 (men 0-0, women 8-5)
Duke, 5-8 (men 5-6, women 0-2)
Kentucky, 8-4 (men 8-4, women 0-0)
North Carolina, 7-5 (men 6-5, women 1-0)

Re: College Basketball 2016-17: Destination Phoenix

I wonder if 2017 was the first time that schools with the same mascot appeared in the title game?

Gonzaga Bulldogs and Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Good question. There are 15 Bulldogs, 15 Eagles, and 12 Tigers in D-1.

The NYU Violets lost in 1945. That has to be the most awesome mascot name ever in a final.

Since the UConn men's and women's team won the title in the same year, I'm going to guess "no." :p

Anything to put UConn in front eh? Your bot is showing.
