College Basketball 2015-2016 - hitchhiking to Houston

Re: College Basketball 2015-2016 - hitchhiking to Houston

I thought Tubby would carry them to a win. I did have Baylor losing, however. Even though the Big XII seemed to have a lot of metrics behind them, only KU and OU seemed like really good teams this year by the eye test.
WVa has played well. The did beat KU(1-2) and lost to OU twice. I've always liked their coach Bob Huggins. I've got them losing to UNC in the Elite Eight.
(had Tech losing, Baylor winning btw)

Upon further review, WVA beat OU in the Big 12 tournament semis.

JFC, Purdue travelled twice there, and Painter wants a foul? His guard gained more yards than his football team did this fall.

Has Bob Huggins graduated anybody yet? He sure didn't at Cincinnati. At one point his graduation rate at UC was 0.0% for a few years running.

Then again, those numbers were compiled long before West Virginia Coach Bob Huggins arrived on campus in 2007, but his previous track record in 16 years at Cincinnati surely does not bode well for the Mountaineers' future graduation numbers. A total of 27 of the 95 players in his Cincinnati program -- 28 percent -- graduated from the school, and in four different seasons, the graduation rate was zero percent.

When the university bought out his contract in August 2005, university president Nancy Zimpher cited Huggins's "lack of character" among the reasons for its decision to let him go, and the school also indicated that 21 players over his tenure had "significant encounters with law enforcement," another factor in his dismissal.

Woohoo, picked one of the 12-5 upsets! This confirms my instinct to always pick against Purdue.

So Florida Gulf Coast is doing that thing again  :D

3 losses yesterday(Colo, Baylor,Purdue). None were advancing past the weekend so that's not too bad.

But you've always liked him.
Question asked: Has Bob Huggins graduated anybody yet?
Answered: Don't know. Or care.

When I replied that I've always liked him I should have been more specific that I've always liked him as a basketball coach.

And I would respond that part of being a college basketball coach is making sure your players graduate.

You are correct. It's kind of a pain to research the years he's been at WVA 4/07-present but in 2012 it was 83%.
