College Basketball 2015-2016 - hitchhiking to Houston

Re: College Basketball 2015-2016 - hitchhiking to Houston

Ho hum. Another Big 12 regular season title. 12th straight, one shy of UCLA's record.

Rock Chalk baby.

5 way big ten is still alive. Now all that's left that needs to happen is Iowa and Maryland over IU with MSU and Wisconsin winning out.

5 way tie is dead.

Iowa came back from 15 down, yet still found a way to choke, going up 1 in the last four minutes and then only hitting one field goal the rest of the way.

Props to Indiana. They've played lights out for 3 months now.

UNC-Ashville and Northern Iowa also punched tickets....

Florida Gulf Coast U is in.

Nearly had North Florida get in because the Atlantic Sun's policy is that if an ineligible team wins the tournament, the regular season champ gets the bid instead of the runner-up. Stetson fell a point below the APR line and could not make it.

Re: College Basketball 2015-2016 - hitchhiking to Houston

I know it is the third year after the messy divorce, and all that, yet still it is hard to see headlines about the Big East basketball tournament and realize there is no UConn, no Syracuse... no disrespect at all to Xavier or Creighton or Butler, but when viewed in the lens of history from 1979, it just is not the same....

D*mn football. Why couldn't basketball be like ice hockey and ignore football affiliations when setting up their conferences?

(that is a rhetorical question, please do not answer it as if it were meant literally).

Anyone But Harvard.

Depends on the validity of the rumors around Yale's captains expulsion and the teams actions afterwards, I think anyone but Yale might have been the safe choice there.
