College Basketball 2015-2016 - hitchhiking to Houston

Re: College Basketball 2015-2016 - hitchhiking to Houston

He wasn't trampled. He either tripped himself or caught legs with someone as he was getting out of his seat.
Watched the video a few times and didn't see anything. Randy Peterson tweeted this: "Just to be clear, I was not trampled by the crowd, I locked legs with someone,,,,, I think" so I don't think he even knew what happened.

If these yahoos don't rush the court I highly doubt this happens. jmo

And it isn't the first go 'round in Ames.

So, is the women's playing with quarters a test run for the men's switching to this next season or has that been going on for a while?

They just started it this year. Not sure why.

I believe men's college is now the only major basketball division in the world playing halves now. Oddly enough, high school is thinking of going to halves. In MI schools can choose to play up to two games this year with 16 minute halves rather than 8 minute quarters.

MSU is doing a three sport tripleheader this weekend with Northeastern in Boston. Women's basketball Friday night, men's basketball Saturday afternoon, and hockey Saturday night.

With the way things have been going this season, the men's basketball game might end up being the most exciting of the bunch.

Bo Ryan has retired from Wisconsin. Barry Alvarez is somehow not the interim coach.

Re: College Basketball 2015-2016 - hitchhiking to Houston

Not really. From everything that's come out he wanted to retire this summer, but there were disagreements between Alvarez and Bo on assistant Greg Gard getting a shot for the head coaching job, as well as Gard's dad becoming ill with cancer. Gard's dad passed recently, and this is the last game before the semester is over so he felt it was a good time to hand it over so Gard can have an opportunity.

Not the best team to have Gard have to audition with, but I don't blame Bo for trying for the upper hand on Alvarez.

Re: College Basketball 2015-2016 - hitchhiking to Houston

It was a pretty cheap ploy by Ryan to force WI's hand and get Gard to be the interim coach. But it does show a lot of friend loyalty.

If I was Alvarez and didn't like the way Ryan left I'd fire Gard at the end of the season regardless of performance.

Yes, because biting off one's nose to spite the face is a great way to run an athletic department.

I think that's why you're posting on a fan forum and Alverez is the head honcho.

Iowa St and Purdue fall from the rank of undefeateds with neutral court losses to UNI and Butler.
