College Basketball 2012-2013: The Year of the Big Ten?

Re: College Basketball 2012-2013: The Year of the Big Ten?

Great win by the Gophs last night. Now #4 in the RPI.

Re: College Basketball 2012-2013: The Year of the Big Ten?

If the Gophers sweep the @ILL and @IND gauntlet I am going to start having high hopes for this team. Which of course means my hopes will be dashed in the worst possible way later in the season. :(

They are at home vs Michigan after that. I don't think they will sweep all 3 games.

I suppose it's too much to hope they name it "The Papal States"?
Please?

PC needs to get the hell away from the Big East. Not that they won't be finishing in the basement in the new conference.

I'd be much more worried about Michigan. I think they are more complete than Indiana.

DePaul soundly has the "Catholic 7" basement locked up, thank you very much....

Re: College Basketball 2012-2013: The Year of the Big Ten?

Someones defense forgot to show up in the first half.

Indiana 52 Minnesota 29 (H)

Re: College Basketball 2012-2013: The Year of the Big Ten?

Doug McDermott outscored Missouri State 28-25 in the second half last night. He made 14 straight shots at one point, and was 10-10 in the 2nd half before missing his last attempt of the game. It was ridiculous.

Give it to Indiana. They played with fire in the second half. They were the benificiary of some second half homer calls...but not difference makers.

Re: College Basketball 2012-2013: The Year of the Big Ten?

These refs refused to call ANYTHING on Zeller. It was embarrassing. Basketball Jesus can do no wrong.

Hall Calls as a friend of mine calls them (he is a Purdue grad/fan)

What are you talking about? The Gophers dominated the 2nd half and outscored Indiana by almost as much as IU did them in the first half.

Re: College Basketball 2012-2013: The Year of the Big Ten?

Minnesota got within 3 with about 15 seconds to go, but IU hits their free throws to finish it up.

Minnesota 81, Indiana 88 (F)

When i posted the Gophers were down by about 15 which they had been for about the previous 10 minutes. The last 4 minutes went down entirely differently.

Nice game guys...too much to overcome.

Re: College Basketball 2012-2013: The Year of the Big Ten?

That was a pathetic first half for the Gophers, and a pathetic second half for the officials.

You want pathetic? Penn State with 28 points at Purdue with 10 minutes left.

They couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat!

Big win for Iowa tonight. Went on the road in a game they should dominate and did.

Re: College Basketball 2012-2013: The Year of the Big Ten?

God these refs were truly terribly.
Says every college hoops fan ever. It makes me appreciate Hockey East officials.

PC can't beat DePaul or anyone else in the Big East right now. Our optimism over Ed Cooley notwithstanding. I'll stick with hockey until he gets some more recruits...
