College Basketball 2012-2013: The Year of the Big Ten?

Best things to happen to Ed Rush and the Pac12 were Ware's broken leg and Rice's firing. So much of the blowback on things depends on what else is in the news at the time.

I'm not sure how people can buy the "it was a joke" explanation since the guy was given a T late in a game on a questionable call during a semifinal that was eventually decided by 2 points.

Surprised Az St isn't more vocal about this.

Say goodnight, Wichita State. You had your chance and you gave it away.

Re: College Basketball 2012-2013: The Year of the Big Ten?

Jeebus. Wichita State down by 4 with 20 seconds left. I guess that's the perfect time to dick around on offense.

I like Pitino (don't ask me why), but good grief, Wichita State got what they deserved.

Horrible officiating in louisvilles favor especially with that jump ball with five seconds left

That was a bad call, but Wichita sealed their fate before that. The way they were playing, they would have taken 12 seconds to bring the ball up court. No sense of urgency whatsoever.

Agree a hundred percent. Unfortunate, was hoping the Shockers would prevail.

Apparently Michigan watched Wichita State play the 2nd half of their game.

Re: College Basketball 2012-2013: The Year of the Big Ten?

That charge on Triche was the right call. Close, but the right call.

The Michigan Syracuse one near the end of the game? That was an absolutely terrible call. He was moving while the guy was in the air.

Normally I root for the underdog, but Wichita's coach is an ***, and their fan base is full of mullet-wearing jerkoffs. So, yeah, I'm fine with them blowing a 12-point lead and losing.

That was one hundred percent a block. A terrible call. He wasn't set at all.

Agree. A no-call, I could understand...the charge seemed like the least of the three options.

Didn't like SU's last possession, having the slowest guy on the court drive the lane didn't make sense.

Re: College Basketball 2012-2013: The Year of the Big Ten?

Twice before has the same school had both men's team and women's team reach the Division I basketball championship game in the same season.

In the 1999 final, Duke men lost to UConn and Duke women lost to Purdue.

In the 2004 final, both UConn teams won.

And in the 2013 final....

I am rooting for an earthquake.
