Colgate & Cornell @ RPI & Union (1/18, 1/19)

Re: Colgate & Cornell @ RPI & Union (1/18, 1/19)

It could be Princeton DrD. They don't have an ECACH game either on Friday or Saturday.

Nope-as usual Comcast does not have its act together. It is Providence. I'll watch a bit of it-but I have less interest since it does not involve an ECAC team.

Yup. TW Cable is just as incompetent. Well, at least you can watch Harvard-Yale tomorrow night on the same network. I'll be at the RPI game.

May be an NBC Sports program listing issue - Dish showed Princeton as well.

Until I saw the URL, I would have guessed a Colgate fan.:D

Very nice article.

Nice article, although one could quibble with some "facts."

Since the article is on a Cornell blog, it is not surprising that it is somewhat Cornell-centric, but then a video produced by RPI is included at the end which is RPI-centric. I loved that video the first time I saw it a few years ago.

Tough close games tonight. RPI ekes out a tight 2-1 win without playing their best game. Hopefully Haggerty not hurt at the end after that boarding penalty. Kasdorf looks just so solid.

Re: Colgate & Cornell @ RPI & Union (1/18, 1/19)

Absolute BS if that isn't a three game suspension. I bet Stewie even reverses the major. I just hope, at the game in Hamilton, a Colgate player or two leave on a stretcher.

Box score shows only a major, not even a misconduct: http://www.collegehockeystats.net/1213/boxes/mclgren1.j18

Typical anti-RPI bias by the league.

I did not see the hit-but how can anyone justify a boarding call with less than 3 seconds left while down a goal and the puck is in your own end without any chance for any offense? The result was decided and the game was over. These are the kind of penalties that cause injury and the league should clamp down on.

A few years ago Garret Vassel laid a hit on Jason Williams. He was taken out on a stretcher though he was just shaken up. Colgate went on to win that game 2-1 in overtime.

But yeah, I didn't like how one of our players (Larkin) decided to lay a hit on Ryan Haggerty when the game was pretty much in the books. He got the 5-minute major, but the reason why he got no game misconduct was because the game was over. Had it been in the 1st period, then yeah, he would have gotten ejected.

Thankfully (as of now) there is no Game DQ issued to the Colgate player. Colgate has only 21 skaters and we've had a player DQ'ed on two separate occasions. We lost both games where a player was serving a suspension this season.
