Colgate 23-24

... Just don’t see this getting the job done against Clarkson and the league’s stingiest goalie, and definitely not OSU. ... I do not have as much faith in our decent goalies, ... Looks like some things are missing here imo.

The 'Gate put it all together yesterday, with an outstanding game by Osborne.

If the NCAA Tournament seedings follow the pairwise, and if the Raiders do well in the tournament they wouldn't see OSU until the finals. The Clarkson-Minnesota and potential Clarkson-OSU games should be exciting, with Clarkson's great defense and the WCHA teams' strong offenses. Exciting hockey ahead!

One final note on last night's game. Those two teams were dead even and Clarkson will be ready for the Frozen 4 for sure. Danielle S showed once again that she is the best player to ever lace them up for Gate. She was the dominant non-goalie on the ice for both teams without a point to show for it. Also, how nice was it to have a first string broadcasting crew for a change for Gate women's hockey. John McGraw our men's announcer is the best, and having Pierre join him for the color was a joy. Hope to see and hear more from them going forward on the women's side. Their knowledge of the game and players made it really fun and accorded the game the respect it deserved.

As is customary for biased USCHO, there seem to be a few omissions over the last 2 days on the women’s front page. Every league deserves fair recognition; it’s not that hard. Congrats to UConn for its first HE Title, and to Stonehill & Penn State as well.

They did, Quasi. My comment was fair based on results to date. Did not realize every weekend had been split between Osborne and Murphy until now. Still wish Kayle would play the puck less. A lucky bounce in a one-goal game is gut wrenching. Not the first time the Knights have kept us scoreless on the pp. Glad we held our own against them, too. One notable difference this year is that we are outshooting our opponents almost every game.

The commentary duo was outstanding imo. Wish we had a state-of-the-art video broadcast to match.

I realize that and was grinning after I saw the result. But little recognition given to other conferences on the main page was all I meant.

Selection show, here we come!

Excellent game last night. It was the battle I was expecting. I thought Osborne was more cautious in her choices to play the puck in last night's game and she was on fire in the net. It is so great to see our team back in their groove and feel like we have a great chance to move into the frozen four. I think it's the first time since 2018? It was a great night to see them win on home ice and the crowd was fantastic especially given that spring break has started for the students.

Osborne's outstanding player of the tournament was well deserved.

NCAA Selection Sunday...predictable bracket and exciting (possible) first round for 'Gate at home v. Cornell, stalwart Annelies Bergmann in goal and star Izzy Daniels! The season may as well be over as announcers predict a WCHA final, as well as one of the 2 Wisconsin players winning the Kaz. Because...WCHA ;-) Would love some first round upsets!

... 3 Wisconsin players...

:-)

I see that the original info said Colgate's Saturday game will be 3PM but now the NCAA says 2PM. Any Colgate fans can confirm whether it is really 2? Thanks and best of luck in the tournament from a Yale fan!

I rarely watch home hockey games from the Class of 1965 Arena in Hamilton, N.Y., on ESPN+ PPV, but... John McGraw is an incredible announcer who does his homework.
Watching tonight, you'd think that he was either a Cornell announcer and/or a Stonehill announcer (as he is so knowledgeable).
He is deserving of any and every accolade that he receives, including the Silver Puck Award from Colgate University.

We play Cornell again sat. It was 1-1 in the third last saturday, will not be a 5-1 game tomorrow, Gate better be at their best !

Congrats to SLU for beating Penn State in OT 1-0. Talked to Emma-Sofie Nordstrom their goalie last sat at Class of 65 , so personable and charming, they have Wisco tomorrow and she'll have to do it again.

Did not like the article about the Cornell game on our athletic website. The exact opposite of what a coach wants in terms of keeping a low profile. Dumb, dumb, dumb...hopefully nothing we can't overcome.

Another exciting win over Cornell. Four of Cornell's eight losses this season were to the Raiders. I doubt if we'll see Colgate go 4-0 against their travel partners again soon. Biederman had her fifth three point game of the season, her two assists being absolute beauties.

Well, the top four in the tournament will meet next weekend. Clarkson and Colgate will need to bring their A+ games against Ohio State and Wisconsin.

Totally agree QC but somehow it was done in 2018 against even greater odds. I am loving our smothering all ice defense. I can't remember any breakaways by Cornell yesterday, just constant, constant back checking pressure... Izzy Daniels was again overshadowed by our non Patty K finalist and teammates. Biederman is playing at the absolute top of her game!

I think the ECAC odds are longer this time. In 2018, tOSU was a first-time tourney entrant who had started the tournament as a road team for the quarters and faced top-seeded Clarkson. This time, the Buckeyes are the top seed and get a FF opponent who is coming off a marathon game. Because 2018 was an Olympic year, the Badgers were nowhere near as talented as what Colgate will see this time. I'll leave it for Raiders fans to evaluate how this year's team compares with what they had in 2018, but UW is much scarier this time around.
