Colgate 23-24

I don't know anything certain about her return but my feeling is that she will be back, likely this weekend. At least that is my hope. But I don't have any actual information on that.

USCHO is reporting she was suspended for two games by the ECAC, then did not play this past weekend, and is now “taking time away from the team.”

I wonder what is meant by taking some time away from the team and if she'll be back. Maybe we will see on Friday if she's in the line up I guess?

Looks like Sidney Morrow will be back as the team is using her pic to preview the Yale game on X.
That's a great sign and will help immensely on the back end...If we get 3 points this weekend we will fourpeat...

Colgate from what I see would fourpeat if they win the ECAC tournament. Colgate won the regular-season title in 2020-21, but Harvard and then Yale took the past two regular-season titles. Don't forget about those Ivy schools! ; )

BowWowWow, I stand corrected and as an aside there are a couple of generations of Eli blue in my family too so unless we are competing like tonight, I'm a big fan. Harvard not so much but didn't mean to steal their thunder either...

Colgate is a good team, but have said before that the goalies give up their fair share. OSU would have won this handily. Offense is no match for defense. We rank dead last in blocked shots. Osborne is 11th in saves per game. Win or lose, glad Kalty is back. I hope her image of Colgate is not scarred. Hope we clinch tomorrow.

Tough game tonight. Yale came hungry and really took that one. I feel like we were outplayed for most of the game. Brown took Cornell to overtime tonight. Hope we can beat them clean tomorrow night to take the reg season title. It is good to see Morrow and Kalty back.

Looks like Gate came to play today. Already up 5-0 on Brown in the 2nd. Congrats on the Regular Season title. Onward to the playoffs.

Important win because they are starting to look like themselves again. Congrats Raiders on becoming ECAC regular season champs. Now 2 weeks to heal and bond and come out flying...

Whew! Congrats to the Women Raiders for clinching the regular season crown on the last day – in convincing fashion. (A loss today and the Raiders would have ended up in third place.)

All three of the top teams earned shutout victories today.

It will be an interesting ECAC playoffs. Any of the top teams could win it all. I expect to see some upsets along the way.

Since I don't follow D-1 women's ice hockey that closely, can I assume that the first round of ECAC Hockey is...

Colgate, Clarkson, Saint Lawrence, Cornell - byes,

Harvard at Quinnipiac for one game,
Union at Yale for one game,
Dartmouth at Princeton for one game, and
RPI at Brown for one game?

I believe you're correct, Iowa. I note the women's one game eliminations look like they are scheduled to be on Saturday afternoon this coming weekend.

And get ready for March 1-2! Men's last regular season weekend at home against RPI and Union, and women's quarterfinals playoffs (best 2of 3, I believe) also at home. I assume the women's games will be in the afternoon, but haven't seen an announcement.

And if you want to brave the cold outside, men's and women's lacrosse March 2 at Colgate at noon and 4 pm, respectively.

Congrats to Colgate. It is no small feat to win a regular season title in this competitive league. We faltered down the stretch and our defense was very questionable at times. With the roster we have, not having had Kalty should not be a dealbreaker. The last clip below is a recap at Yale. The defensive breakdowns need major work imo.

Most importantly, I hope Kalty has resolved some issues with the administration, coaches, her teammates, herself, or whatever the case may be. I hope there are no hard feelings on any end, but we’ll never know.

Not being pessimistic, but all roads go through Clarkson imho. Their goalie and defense are superb and they score just enough to win. SLU has peaked at the right time.

Congrats to winning the league reg season title. This means that after the first round bye next weekend, Gate will be home for best of three the following weekend and if they win, will host the semifinals and finals in Hamilton. I would love to see them take on Clarkson for the Championship at Class of 65.
