Shabby, I do, but I pay the Sullivan Suite rate in order to get the access (for the nightly buffet). I don’t like looking down the ice from the Suite, so they are gracious enough to allow me to have a seat near center ice. When we get close to selling out the arena on a nightly basis, then I may have to choose one or the other location (and I will select the lower-priced mid-ice seat location).

appear to be good "hires" by Harder - smart, accomplished and YOUNG...let the recruiting begin Gate...

And...he coached the NTDP U 17 team, and last year the U 18 team. This could be a game changer for recruiting, hoping he was popular with the players !

All the members of that team are already committed. Then again, with the current propensity for transfers Colgate might pick one up on the rebound. Given the significant percentage headed to BC, perhaps in a few years they can get delayed compensation for Benson.

Magoz - I did a little digging - Tom Chorske is from/lives in Edina, MN and has a son. Could very well be his Dad.

[TD="align: left"]Dear Alumni, Families, and Friends of Colgate Men’s Hockey,

I just returned from a fantastic road trip and wanted to fill you in. From Victoria, British Columbia to Duxbury, Massachusetts, I spent the summer visiting every one of our returning student-athletes, our future committed players, and alumni from four different decades along the way. Thirty-three families welcomed me into their homes and shared delicious home-cooked meals (including some pierogies I’m still thinking about).

The goal of the trip was to get to know our talented young men in a way that only the recruiting process can provide. What happened along the way was a deeper understanding of who we all are and the common goals of our program. This team is stacked with motivated, hardworking players who have a thirst to win. They got a taste of it last season, they want more, and they know the path to success relies on development.

This would not have been possible without the support of our generous alumni network. We are continuing to build the great tradition of Colgate hockey and develop young men that make all of us proud.

We hope to see you and reconnect at our alumni weekend and golf outing Sept. 29–30 on campus. Warning — we have a lot of great golfers on this team, so bring your A-game, and let’s have some fun.

Go, ’gate!

Sincerely,

Mike Harder ’97
Donald F. Vaughan Head Men’s Hockey Coach

IOWA - miss reading your posts! I hope all is well. Go 'gate!!

Barb, thanks! Yes, all is well here. Have bought my season ticket and parking pass and am ready for this year’s adventure. I received that email and can’t help but get excited, too. The older I get, the less I like change. But I also know that it is good (and natural). Fresh eyes, new blood, all that. Maine just announced that individual tickets are now on sale, so early next week I will purchase mine. That is the one road trip this season to which I am most looking forward (not unlike Northern Michigan in early ‘22). Some home hockey weekend this season, let’s meet for dinner or coffee before a game in Hamilton. My treat. Take care and Go ‘Gate!
