Colgate 2018-19

Re: Colgate 2018-19

on top of everything else...apparently we are still providing only 17 full grant-in-aid slots for the MIH, not the 18 permitted (someone tell me I'm wrong here; I believe we went from 16 to 17 a couple of years ago, but still shy of the 18 limit)...in addition, we are not paying our assistant coaches a salary that is really competitive with most other DI programs...have to say - if both of the above are true - the so-called "administrative support" the team receives is overstated.

Re: Colgate 2018-19

Kudos to Colgate's Chris Wagner for scoring the first goal for the Bruins in the B's 2-1 win over Carolina in Game 3 last night.

I wonder if Chris will bring the Stanley Cup to Hamilton a la Andy McDonald :-)

Re: Colgate 2018-19

Chris is playing great! What if the Sharks win the Cup? Will Assistant Coach Steve Spott '90 bring it to Hamilton? Go 'Gate

Re: Colgate 2018-19

Any word on Wags......will he be ready to play in the Cup final(s)? Look forward to him bringing the Cup to Hamilton..

Re: Colgate 2018-19

My guess is that he is done for the year with a broken forearm - hope I am wrong but the B's sent him home from Carolina immediately. That seems like a bad sign.

GreenCoat - where are you hearing/seeing the number of schollies and the Assistant Coach salary info?

Re: Colgate 2018-19

Gate93...wish I could tell you but it comes from a very good source...I did know that we had always been short of the full 18 scholarships for quite some time, then heard (about 3-4 years ago) that another schollie had been "funded" (whatever that means)...and recently heard that we are still at 17...losing one of our better assistants to UMass-Lowell over a year ago MAY have been partially salary-related, but I simply don't know...will always try to keep this thread updated, but always need to be somewhat circumspect on stating something as a "fact"...

Top recruit Michael Citara decomits - and goes Hockey East to Providence. De-committing was always possiblity, as he really "blew up" this past season.
