As frustrating a season as it has been, it is still sad to roll into the parking lot for the final Friday night home game of 2018-19.

Mitch Benson will be in goal tonight, wearing his Colgate at 200 nameless jersey.

Colgate 3, Union 0, score after two.
Union swapped goalies after third goal against.
Unreal play by Colgate, including penalty kills.

IBT - what was your opinion of the UMASS team after the game Thursday night? Are they as good as their ranking?

Yikes! What a game tonite! Good going 'Gate. Props to Mitch Benson. What did Coach give them before this game......triple latte maybe? Let's keep it rolling tomorrow.

ColSkate65, Behind Colgate and Omaha, I have been very supportive of UMass and Arizona State this year. I thought columnist Ryan Lambert of College Hockey News did a hatchet job on UMass earlier this year, so I really wanted for them to prove him wrong (which they have done). So, when I saw that I could go see them, even against lowly UConn, I was excited. They had 18 SOG in the first period alone (hell, that has been a game total for ‘Gate this year). But, then they were flat. Yes, they won 3-0, but the last one was an ENG. It is way too late in the season for PWR #1 to be playing that way against PWR #47. I was, sadly, not impressed. I personally don’t think they can win the Hockey East tourney, let alone get to Buffalo. Again, I really wanted them to blow my socks off. They didn’t.

Just a reminder of some of the blow-outs we’ve been in this season to-date...
6-1 Loss at RIT,
6-0 Loss at Miami,
5-1 Loss to Quinnipiac at home,
6-1 Loss at Harvard,
6-0 Loss to Quinnipiac on Long Island,
6-0 Loss at Union, and
5-1 Win against Union at home.
Trust me, it is more fun to be on the giving end than the receiving end. For the coach. For the team. For the fans.

Beat RPI tonight and Cornell beats Union would put us one point out of a home playoff series heading into the final weekend. Ya never know !

What a great night at Riggs! Good crowd; Pep Band was awesome; team played amazing!!! It will be bittersweet tonight, honoring the Seniors and their families. If you can, come on out and cheer on an inspired 'Gate team!!! GO 'GATE!!!

nice to see these kids who HAVE worked hard this season get a convincing win over a good, but inconsistent Union team...

Headed to OT.
Pretty lackluster, except for last ten minutes of regulation... then a sense of desperation out of both teams.

very happy for our (by far) best forward on the team...we remain exceedingly passive on the PK and also passive protecting a one-goal lead...

Happy for the boys, not much good has happened this year. If we beat SLU, Union has to win a game at home against Dartmouth or Harvard(or maybe a tie) not sure, to get the last home ice berth.

Way to go guys. Happy for the sweep and kudos to the players! Maybe we can keep the puck rolling in the North Country.

In my continuing horror story: ESPN+ let me down again. After spending 20 minutes trying to get connected I finally got to see the 2nd period, with sharp reception - best of the season. Then they cut me off - "There is no video available for this broadcast" it posted. #%$@#$@ ESPN. I even called them and complained last week, but they did nothing. Whoever set up this arrangement with them should take another look before next season. They are worthless as far as I'm concerned. Will be cancelling my subscription...Patriot League Network was much more reliable and better IMHO.
