Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

On the bright side: Tyler Penner went 9-3 on faceoffs, pretty good. He may be a good 1-2 punch with Adam Dauda.

Yesterday, we lost 3-2 to a good UMass Lowell team. I thought, okay, we can at least play with the good teams. But today, we put 49 shots on net and lose 4-1? To Army? What the hell!

Good Riddance 2016. You were not kind to Colgate hockey.

I know Army has improved as the season has worn on, but we have also. Losing 4-1 was a shock to my system. I thought for sure we could handle them at this point and take 3rd place. Yes, good riddance to 2016!

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

the compete level is there (it's almost always there with DV-coached teams)...what is necessary is an improvement in speed and skill over the next year or two...after many years of relatively low-scoring games, goal scored in College hockey are on the rise...we are simply not equipped at this point to consistently score 3 goals/game...

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

A bit of good news.........Bobby McMann was chosen as the ECAC Rookie of the Week for his play in the Ledyard Classic. I hope the team will take this time (off this weekend) without academic pressures and games to bear down and practice hard. Go 'Gate.

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

Tough to write anything when you don't see your team play for two months every year from Nov to Jan. Something should be done about this scheduling.

The league block schedule for next season was recently posted to eLynah. Next season we play TWO league home games the first weekend of January, while students are still on winter break!

Anyways, the stretch run begins this weekend. Nothing but league games from here on out. Time to lay it all on the line.

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

Now schedule something in early December and we will only wait one month.

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

Quinnipiac game is being streamed by QU and on SNY channel 45 here in central NY Friday at 7.

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

I think at this point you just look at the league record and try to make a move there, to be honest it isn't as bad as it seems from that point. There are a lot of teams ahead of us, but many of those teams have games in hand

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

No triskadekaphobia here, Roll Raiders Roll. Game on tv tonight channel 40 CNY

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

Hello from Hamden. Point is starting, Finn did not dress. Was just speaking to another alum here who said some of the players got food poisoning last night. Buckle up...

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

The SNY broadcasters said six Colgate players were sick and didn't dress, Finn, Dauda, and McMann included. I agree with the rebounds by Point, three of the four goals came on rebounds but, the dmen need to do a better job clearing them out. Thought Point actually played very well, could have been 8-1, hoping some of the sick are back tonight. Without our best players we don't have a shot.

If it was food poisoning I wonder wth they ate, Pizza Hut ?

Re: Colgate 2016-17 A New Beginning

Why do we always get food poisoning on the road? Didn't this happen to us up in Canton or Potsdam a couple of years ago? DV needs to make sure we eat at reputable places.

After we scored our goal it gave us a chance, but then they score with a baseball swing seconds later and that sealed the deal for QU. Why does this scenario happen over and over? :(
