High school football sectional championship games from the Carrier Dome are on Time Warner Friday and Saturday. Only TV games on Time Warner this year are St. Lawrence, Brown and Quinnipiac. Road games on TV are at Merrimack and UMASS. Though the UMASS games won't be available in the CNY viewing area, just for those that get CBS 3 out of Springfield.

Cornell weekend and noone here ???

Because the games are in November, that's why! Rivalry games are never meant to be played this early in the season! Why do you think ESPN has "rivalry week" for college basketball in February? In November the rivalry games are in college football, not hockey!

And of course, everyone in the pick 'em thread is picking us to get swept. Honestly, I can't see Cornell going 4-0-0 to start their season. Can we salvage a split? I think so, but we'll have to wait and see.

Re: Colgate 2012-13

With the speed and talent we have I think "anything" is possible this weekend. We are much more balanced this year with three scoring lines, not one. I am very excited.

Re: Colgate 2012-13

I'd much rather open the Cornell weekend at Cornell. This series is an easy sweep series either way. GR, any idea how many time this series has been split or swept over the years? If we take an L at home Friday night it will be extremely hard to a W in their rink on Saturday night. Fridays game is the more important of the two, IMO.

What is the turnout prediction for Friday's game? Will the students show up, or are they on some sort of break? How are the chairback seats selling? Not sure if this old body can pull a day-night doubleheader.

Student section as well as GA will be packed. The chairbacks are the big question mark as they've been the past 2-3 years...especially when it comes to the Cornell game...

Re: Colgate 2012-13

As of 10:30 Thursday am(right now) there are about 150 general admission tickets left. Chairbacks are all sold out...I called the ticket office.

I wonder when the chairbacks sold out- I got online Sunday afternoon and got one.

And I answered my own question by going on the Colgate website and seeing an article posted yesterday that said that tickets were still available, so I would assume the chairbacks went yesterday or this morning.

Nice! And that's 150 plus whatever the student allotment is this year. Hope they show up in force. I heard the crowd last year was around 2,400. SRO. Hopefully the memory of last year's sweep will be vivid in the students' minds and they remember how fun it must have been.

Re: Colgate 2012-13

You have less than 27 hours to get your picks in or revise your picks to the ECAC Pick The Standings 2012-2013 thread. Remember 7PM Friday is the deadline.

Re: Colgate 2012-13

Wonder how the super frosh will respond, first goal is huge !!

Need to get through the first 5 or so minutes too.

Last 2 Friday Night games (in other words, coming off some rest):

vs. Bowling Green- Gave up a goal at 2:43 of the first, and, just for giggles, gave up one 1:06 into the 2nd. 3-1 loss.

vs. RIT- 2 goals allowed in the first 2:30 of the game. This one wasn't so bad, as they come back for a 6-3 win.

Gotta make sure they are awake for this one.

Definitely. Falling behind to Cornell of all teams that early would be devastating. They would then slow the game down and skate you to sleep.

Re: Colgate 2012-13

No tix available. Not gonna make it. Anyone at the game please give a detailed report on Saturday :) Glad it's a sellout. Will have to go the GateRadio route tonight.

Yeah, about that...

Bad luck with the shots, it was some crazy number like 25-3 at the end of the 1st, but Mihalik should have had both those goals. Again, like Bowling Green a couple weeks ago, Colgate gets a goal, the place is jumping, it's a tie game, and bam, give up a soft goal. Part of it, I'm sure was Mihalik going long stretches without seeing shots, but this is one that got away.
