Very encouraging signs.
Frosh Wilson and Lidgett kicking in on top lines with Spiro playing a strong D.
Only goal against was on PK, no even strength goals.
Easily could have been a blow out after 2 with the chances Wagner had.
Evin plays solid game and gets the W.
No 3rd period collapse and no pressure from RMU with goalie pulled.
Opportunity tomorrow night to play a ranked team in hostile environment in their building.

What more could we ask for ? Seventeen year old Lidgett with two assists, Wilson scores, avenge two losses to them from last year. BTW...Miami lost to Bimidji last night.

Shocked that Evin played after Michalik's finish last year ? Perhaps a class move by Vaughan to start a senior ??

Coach Vaughan mentioned that both Alex Evin and Eric Mihalik were going to play this weekend - Evin on Friday and Mihalik on Saturday. No controversy whatsoever.

At least Colgate is unlikely to go anywhere, unlike the nomadic existence of my other alma mater (TCU)

Great to see them open the season with a win, and glad we get to play UNO in our other game. Lots of potential with this bunch overall, especially loving the veteran defense corps. If Mihalik is the big deal I think he is, our expectations should start at getting a first round home series

Well now isn't this a nice way to wake up on a Sunday morning! Production from the freshman (2 goals and 3 assists in 8 games played) and everybody else firing it in too. Great recap on the site - after last year I had a hard tim believing I was reading "killer instinct," "focus," and "opportunistic" used in reference to the raiders. Keeping it going through next weekend will be tough but I'm a lot more excited about having the #2 team visit now than I was yesterday

So happy they're starting the year like the team of the last fifteen games of last year !! It sure feels good.

We won a tournament!

Great to see them get a win on the road like that, hopefully the start of a strong season

Miami is a huge series, very nervous about it, but excited as well. It's a great opportunity to see a great team in Starr and really measure what this team is capable of

Great start to the season! Winning the Maverick Stampede is a great accomplishment.

Just wanted to congratulate the team on winning the Stampede. It was a very entertaining game and Colgate just outworked UNO. Your guys had a good gameplan and they stuck to it. Good luck with the rest of your season.
