Colgate 2010-2011 [Part II]

Re: Colgate 2010-2011 [Part II]

Some big news over the last few days in the ECAC. Yesterday Roll was fired at Clarkson after 3 losing seasons. Who would you suspect they are looking to bring in? In addition Union's sophomore stud goalie takes off for the NHL. That's a tough spot to fill late for sure.

Re: Colgate 2010-2011 [Part II]

Wouldn't it be great if Clarkson looked to Asst. Coach, Greg Dreschel, Colgate grad as the "go to guy!"

Rumor...Not sure of the validity. New rink put out to bid with less money than the 40 million to several architects. Guess they're having trouble raising the original.

Good news and bad, I suppose, Shabby. Hope we don't wind up with a half bad facility just because some deep pocket alums (Silver Puck) won't fork over the dimes. Need to get the Pres. fully behind this, (especially with Miami coming in next year) if he's not already. Keep the academics out of it.

Now that Leaman's gone from Union, I wouldn't expect a cupcake in the Dutchmen. They are still loaded and have another great coach. Appert staying at RPI is a surprise to me, but hear he signed a long-term contract.

Back to fishing.

Larkin made and played on the Italian team that won the IIHF World Championships. Congrats ! Good experience.

Leaman had a long term contract (until 2017), but left; he had signed the extension last year. I'm sure there were plenty of coaches around the country that received raises or extensions in order to ensure that they'd stay. At least you guys have a good long-term stronghold in the form of Coach Vaughan, so I'm sure you guys will be alright. His teams always seem quite competitive.

Enjoy the fishing. :)

Mike....What I miss ? Your problem with Leaman ? Have you any news on the funding for the rink ?

It's not just Leaman - I hope Gadowsky falls on his face too. If Don Vaughan were to leave Colgate for a job in another league I'd say the same about him too.

Re: Colgate 2010-2011 [Part II]

Some good news...College hockeysource.com recruiting has John Lidgett(won't be 18 til fall) ranked #17 and Joey Wilson ranked #25 for this fall's incoming frosh. Interesting that Laliberte for RPI is ranked #34.

Re: Colgate 2010-2011 [Part II]

Interesting you said that...his stats look Gretskyesque but he's about 22...why wasn't he taken before, someone knows something !
