Emoticons from smiles just don't cut it for me... I was thinking something along the lines of a middle finger.

Looks like Colgate posted openings for Head Coach and 2 assistant coach positions on Friday on the NCAA site.

Re: Coaching vacancies 2012

With Troy Jutting fired...er, re-assigned?, from his position as head coach of the men's team, I can't help but wonder if his protege Eric Means will have a run at the position.
I'm not sure that his track record with the women's program suggests that he'd offer any improvement over Jutting on the men's side. The only time that MSU has played in in a WCHA semi-final was ironically the season where the Mavericks had interim co-head coaches.

.....thus the comment about sarcasm tags.

Does anyone know who is up or in the running for the Colgate head coaching position? Haven't heard anything about it...

Hope they get someone fast...., heard a few players are considering transferring as a result of his departure.

OK - Time to start the Amherst guesswork. Potential replacements for Jim Plumer?

How about Meghan Gillis, Head Coach at Williams? Success at Pomfret, success at Williams (both are relative), played for Jim Plumer at Bowdoin and was an asst coach for Jim Plumer at Amherst.......chance to move to a potentially more competitive situation at Amherst.

Do coaches usually have minimum stay restrictions in their contracts ("have to stay at least 3 years..." or something like that) or clauses that require the AD to allow them to pursue other opportunities?

I'd guess 90% if not more of the D3 coaches out there are on year to year contracts.

What's up with Colgate - not a word to speak of about their coach search?? Since Wiley resigned, UVM has had their coach resign, vetted candidates, interviewed at least 4 coaches, and hired a highly qualified head coach. Starting to smell like Colgate may be re-evaluating their girls hockey program. Chance that they are going the route of Niagara? If not, they sure are taking their time and are going to handicap the new coach in the recruiting process.

Bothwell (UVM) resigned on 3/7. New coach announced on 5/1.
Wiley (Colgate) resigned on 3/20. They still have a week to go to be on the same (quick) time frame as UVM.
