Coaching Openings

Just saw the Colby head coach job posted. Is Mallory leaving? Didn't follow the mules too closely this year but she appeared to do a pretty good job as interim.

Re: Coaching Openings

That is very disappointing if it was not her decision. Saw Colby play 3 times this season and felt that she did a great job with the team she had. They went to the NESCAC semifinals for the first time in years. She deserves another year as a minimum.

I have been told the posting of the position is procedural and Coach Young will return next season.

Re: Coaching Openings

NCHA opening at Concordia University Wisconsin for head coach as of a week ago, but no posting on the NCAA or AHCA boards

Re: Coaching Openings

Second Assistant at Penn State is also posted.

Re: Coaching Openings

Already have the following D1 openings - Bemidji, St Cloud, UNH, Maine. Question - does anyone think the additional following coaches may be in jeopardy?

- Union - Annual question. Slowly getting better but is it fast enough (and they just lost 2 of their 3 goalies for next season due to leaving school)
- Brown - Third season and it has gotten worse each of the three years. Only had two of her own recruiting classes (and the first was a very late start).
- Rensselaer - Major collapse at the end of the season when they had all but locked up a playoff spot. Seem to recruit fairly well to a technical school but can't seem to find the on-ice magic.
- Providence - He's a mainstay, but the last 3 seasons have been serious under-performers.

Union- Most wins in a season in school history. I would think she stays
Brown- Gone
Rensselaer- All of the losses down the stretch against good opponents (exceptions Brown and possibly Yale) Good freshman class coming in -Stays
Providence- I agree under they seriously under-performed this season, and about .500 the 2 seasons before..... Not sure on this one.

I've got to imagine Bobby D gets a couple seasons to recruit into the improved facility at PC before anything happens to him. I think he's at least earned that.

Haven't seen a posting by UNH or UMaine yet. Any idea when they will do that?

UPDATE: Union goalies, Dahl had to leave the sport she loves due to injuries hip and knee surgeries, Pencott just stated that she doesn't want to play anymore.

Re: Coaching Openings

How many years does Shannon Miller at UMD get before they start looking? Last 2 years at .500 and missing NCAAs for 3 years........and with UND emerging......4th place in the WCHA is not gonna get an NCAA bid.
