Can see states rights being shifted to mandate those states with resources have to transfer those to states with powerful positioned republicans

Say nothing of the fact that they will have Kepler to bully water-loggerd flyovers. He and the rest of those silver haired, statin gulping Airstreamers.

Weather models are calling for an insufferable heat wave across Europe in a week. Forecast shows Belgium will have a high of 113 around July 17 or 18th.

Records were last set in 2019 when they had a 100 heat wave go through.

Average for the country is low to mid 80s

Dam good thin mookie is going to Paris this week. Get out while the gettin’s good ;-)

No big deal. Italy is only already in a bad drought, affecting all their crops, and a melting glacier in the Dolomites killed some people last week but - have you heard about the price of gas??

I’m upset about my children being taught critical race theory in elementary school.

Who gives a ****? It's too fucking late now.

Well, I think that any discussion of energy generation (now or in the short term) that doesn't include nuclear as part of the portfolio is not a serious discussion. These take years to plan and build, so the sooner we start, the sooner they're on line.

Also, I think that with the proliferation of EVs, we're going to start needing a lot more electrical energy. As battery technology really comes along we will likely have the ability to store generated electricity (instead of spending so much time/resources balancing demand with supply), and I think nuclear generation should be a big part of that.

Agreed. I spent time with energy expert this weekend who is a huge environmentalist and he laid out points for why he says nuclear should be part of solution

Sure, they should also be scared to death of a ton of other things happening due to climate change. Heck homeowners in Florida are already in a bad spot.

nuclear isn’t anyones favorite choice. The point is it can be in discussion regarding lessening usage of fossil fuels

hey, fuck if mookie cares.
just need to stay on planet earth and make decisions like where it’s going.
is con Edison gonna decide and hear about how they only care about the bottom line and screw colored for putting it in neighborhoods where it can make financial sense?
is any pol concerned at.fucking.all about being re-elected gonna vote to put it in their jurisdiction?
….meanwhile

Cool
and in who’s backyard :-0

People
get
scared
fuckless
over that

People just need to get used to having smaller backyards.

Population density:

US: 36/km2
India: 412/km2

We have plenty of land such that it doesn’t need to be in anyone’s backyard.

I also think that a large-scale investment and use of battery storage would make the "where do we put these so the NIMBY's won't sue us to oblivion" much easier. Right now you need to put energy production somewhat sorta near consumption. While we wouldn't necessarily want to keep all our power plants and storage facilities in one spot, they can be much less spread out than they currently need to be.
