Clean Up College Hockey!

Re: Clean Up College Hockey!

A Sioux fan started this? Now I've seen everything!

Are you a UND fan? Seriously? :D
I have to be another on to comment on this. UND is a team that I actually like and even cheer for at times, but come on! UND is consistently one of the dirtiest teams in college hockey, so siouxinminny, you should first demand that your own team clean up their act before making these "poor us" kinds of comments.

.

Want to fight? First offense - 5 game suspension. Second offense - season-long suspension.

Fighting is part of the game. Both players know what they are doing when they fight, and everyone loves to see a good scrap on the ice. Stop your whining, no one cares.

Re: Clean Up College Hockey!

Prob wouldn't be so much Tom Foolery if fighting was allowed in college hockey. I would say I do miss the real fighting in hockey of the past. It seems as if more fights are staged than ever in the show.

When I think of dirty teams, I think of Mankato. And I don't think it's that close with any other teams.

Re: Clean Up College Hockey!

I agree that hitting from behind has become a problem in college hockey, it seems as though every game someone gets a GM for HFB. I would go the other way on fighting however, as I think it would make classic college hockey rivalries even greater if players were allowed to drop the gloves. This would also end a lot of the pattycaking that goes on after the whistle

Re: Clean Up College Hockey!

Apparently they've already begun the process of labotimizing UND zombies. This ridiculous thread sucks cob.:D

Re: Clean Up College Hockey!

Players being severely injured.

Meaningless suspensions.

Poor sportsmanship on display nearly every night.

This behavior and attitude is not tolerated in any other NCAA sport.

Why is it tolerated for hockey?

It is time to clean up the game.

Want to fight? First offense - 5 game suspension. Second offense - season-long suspension.

Checking from behind or intent to injure? First offense - 5 game suspension or twice as long as the injured player is unable to play, whichever is longer. Second offense - season-long suspension.

Start penalizing the tom-foolery that happens after nearly every whistle when the goaltender freezes the puck.

As a Sioux fan, it is inexcusable what happened to Bina a few years ago, to LaPoint after that and now Genoway. And that is just my team.

A little further down campus, there's this summer sport played in winter with an orange round thing if you don't like this sport.

I think the NCAA should put some new rules in place, this has gotten out of hand. Here are my suggestions:

1.) During the introductions, the home team must bow when each of the visiting players name is read.

2.) Home team players will host visiting team by sharing living quarters, girlfriends, and pajamas with them

3.) During the new time-outs the league (WCHA) has at 15, 10 and 5 minutes, tea and crumpets will be served by tuxedo-wearing staff at the benches

4.) When your opponent scores, your team will gently place their sticks on the ice and join in the applause with the crowd. On-ice players will also be required to personally congratulate the scoring player and the assisting player(s with a big sincere hug.

5.) The handshake line will be changed to a group-hug at center ice.

6.) Winning teams will be required to send cards to their opponent first thing Monday morning apologizing for beating them.

7.) All teams on the ice will be required to give stick salutes to the 'fine' staff of refs after each game, commending them for another awesome performance.

8.) All coaches will be limited in their responses to the press. Allowed response will read: "We are pleased with the outcome, the refs, and the league. We couldnt be happier."

9.) All players accepting positions on a NCAA hockey team will have a small rubber band applied to their scrotum prior to their first practice. The rubber band will remove the testicles of the players, thus removing the testosterone and aggression shown in years past.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? YES, THE INTENTIONAL BONE-HEAD PLAYS NEED TO BE PENALIZED, BUT THE REFORMS YOU ARE PROPOSING WILL KILL HOCKEY. TOUGHEN UP BUTTERCUP!!! HIKE UP YOUR SKIRT AND GET BACK IN THE GAME!!!

I went out to The Ralph for the BC series 6-7 years ago. The Sioux were short a player who had a game DQ for fighting in the previous game. I was appalled to see the fight shown on the big screen 3-4 times during the game and the fans cheering each time.

I say, clean up your own house first and the rest of the world will take care of itself.

There's a difference between two guys agreeing to a fight, and one guy loading up and cross-checking another guy's head into the glass, from behind.

Nice try, though.

Re: Clean Up College Hockey!

I also think we need to get rid of the sense of entitlement and arrogance that is in college hockey. It makes other teams feel really bad about themselves.

(The idea that the Gopher football team can become a Big Ten contender makes me laugh)

If you are going to give me negative rep at least have the balls to say who you are.

Fact of the matter is this is a college hockey message board and not A football thread.

Fail.
