CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

The team is starting to shape up after that mid-season crumble.

haha...Yeah, it was real touch-n-go there for a few weeks. I wasn't sure we were going to make it. I think "crumble" is a bit tough. Quinnipiac "crumbled", Bemidji barely hiccupped.

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

Attendance from the boxscores lastnight:
UAH-Niagara 1086
Huntsville Havoc game 2771
Anyone there to confirm whether they cleared the rink out or not between games? Sounds like they had two great close games to watch.
They did not clear out the arena but UAH season ticket holders have to move to make way for Havoc season ticket holders as you would expect.

The Chargers beat the Purps once again by the same 3-2 score to sweep this weekend home series.
That makes the Chargers undefeated at home in 2010.:D Hey, you got to make the best of what you got...

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

Robert Morris knocks off another top ten team with a 5-2 win in Bemidji.

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

So the Beavs sweep UMD, but split with RMU? That is going to hurt in the Pairwise!

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

Well BSU is still #5 in the Pairwise afterall. I asked about this on the Bracketology list, and it sounds like BSU lost to the "right" team cause i think what they meant about RMU playing so many games vs top teams. The whole Pairwise thing confuses me!

Someone's gotten too used to putting "L"s up on the UAH website. ;) The two "L"s that are currently up for the weekend need to be changed to "W"s.

They did not issue g. a. tickets to UAH ticket holders on Friday evening like they have on occasion in the past; you just had to stay if you wanted to see the Havoc. We stayed for a couple of Havoc periods, and they must have kept a running total to pad the Havoc attendance number. There weren't that many more people at the Havoc game than the UAH game.

Douglas, where's the "No-hands" comment for Dan? :D Tanaka-san worked hard, took a lot of hits, and really deserved his tying goal.

I see that Cam got an assist on Cale's goal. He indirectly deserved one also on the winning goal. He made a great outlet pass that caught Niagara napping that led to the hook that led to the power play that led to the winning goal.

Well, Terry (writing this just before checking out of my hotel) ...

Tanaka might have worked hard and taken some hits (which he probably brings on himself because he is always running his mouth out there) but that does not mean he deserved that goal. I mean, a shot from the blue line that was not even screened? I think Noonan would like that one back along with Durnie's. Not to say that Chris did not dodge a couple bullets other times, especially when he wandered from the net, but those two goals were really surprises.

As for Tanaka, I was kind of puzzled by a guy with his speed going in what seemed to be slow motion with the puck on that 3-on-1 break. Was that end of a long shift, or what was up with that?

Finally, I was not going to say anything but as long as I'm posting, what the heck ... two days in a row there were questionable penalties against us in the last five minutes. I have never seen refs throw guys out of the face-off twice in a row and then call for an automatic penalty. That was totally bs but it did not directly effect the outcome. Last night's phantom hooking call with just over two to go did. I'm not going to blame the loss on this, as we should have played better if we wanted to win. But when a ref makes up a call like that at the end of the game, it is bs. :(

Okay, shuttin' down down and leavin' town.

Believe us when we say "we feel your pain". ;)
When a goalie finds his man camped-out on the blue line, makes the pass, and the defense has to hook to impede the scoring chance, the ref. simply has to make the call. Actually, it was with just "under" two to go.

RMU@Niagara: Bobby Mo

When's the last time nobody in the conference played on the weekend (aside from the holiday breaks)?

Niagara. They're gonna be peeved about the loss to Huntsville.

I will go with Niagara. Curious how the monkey picks this one.
