Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

Another feather in the cap for a CHA team. Niagara University's Dwyer Arena will be one of the 2 sites along with HSBC Arena in Buffalo for the 2011 World U20 championships next January. This years final teams USA and Canada will probably play all their games in Buffalo but Niagara's close association with the Sabres organization certainly is rewarded by being selected as the secondary site.

Yeah, but they'll be an Atlantic Hockey team by then. :p

I am sure some of you may know the answer but is the Women's CHA Hockey League also disbanding after this season? If not that statement may be only partially true. Either way anything that bodes well for a CHA program should still be considered as a badge of honor for the league whether or not it is finalized before the league disbands.

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

The women's league is staying...only the men's league is disbanding.

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

I really don't see any reason to depart from the pack this week... <sigh>

BEAVERS IN THE PROS (as of 01/05/10) ...

Matt Francis-Gwinnett (ECHL): 27 GP, 4-7-11 Pts, 27 PIM (Hey 5-hole, how does he look?)
...
Matt has been a very solid third liner for us. He has not scored much but is playing a fundamentally sound game and doing the things that you want your third line guys to do. Most of all, I think Coach is pretty pleased with his play.

BTW ... temp is in the teens here in Roswell, GA, with a wind chill right at zero degrees this a.m. This has been going on for several days now and we have a few more days to go. Sigh. I'm seeing things around here that I have never seen ... my pool has a thin layer of ice on it (never happened before) and my koi pond has a thick layer of ice. And on top of the pond ice is a sprawled out frog who jumped on and stuck right where he landed!

Darn global warming!

Thanks for the update on Matt!

Get that pool to freeze a little thicker and you can play some pond (pool) hockey! Four inches of ice and lakes up here are safe to walk on, twelve inches and you can drive on it.

I would take your weather right now over what we have. We are below zero with wind chills between -20 and -40 below. We have been this way a few days also. But next week is looking nice with +20 most days! I may have to break out the shorts and flip flops.

You should take a picture of that frozen Frog.

Re: CHA Thoughts and Prognostications: Year 11, The Finale...

Chargers give up three straight goals; one with 25 seconds to go in the second then two in the third to lose 3-1 to Clarkson. :(
