CC @ UND Jan 11-12

Re: CC @ UND Jan 11-12

A nice surprise last night. I didn't think we could do it. Go CC!

CC was by far the hungrier team. I didn't think the Tigers played as well as they are capable, but they took advantage of enough UND miscues to win the game. At the end of the day, it was a nice win for CC.

As for North Dakota, that may have been the worst game I've seen them play all year. It was an uninspired, lackluster, and ugly performance. Nobody played really well, and the only two people that I thought played with heart were Senkbeil and Gleason. Kristo seemed uninterested for a majority of the game, and Knight was nowhere to be found (other than the first goal). It didn't help that we played with 10 forwards for about 1/2 the game, but this team is deep enough to be able to handle that sort of adversity. Saunders played okay, but the first goal was such a soft goal that it seemed to set the tone of the game. That being said, he did make some excellent saves to keep the game close...this could have easily been about 7-3 instead of 4-3.

Hopefully North Dakota plays their game tonight. If they do that, they should be able to salvage a split.

Gleason was horrible defensively last night. Unfortunately he wasn't alone.

I'd really like to see Panzarella in a few more games. Obviously the coaches are more keen on were he belongs I'm the depth chart but something needs to change if UND wants to be relevant at the F5 and in the NCAA tourny.

Anyone hear anything about Caggiula yet? He walked down the tunnel holding his head after Boivin's hit and didn't return.

He's playing tonight on a line with Rowney and Parks. Must have been a precautionary move by Hakstol. I can't imagine a less than 24 hour turnaround if it was anything concussion related.
