Re: CC @ tUMD

Don't UND fans throw a dead Gopher on the ice during Minnesota games at the Ralph? When did that become okay?

Re: CC @ tUMD

Has anyone ever seen me say "The chants were great! They're ok! I like racism!" Nope.
Never said you did. But defending the chants as "it wouldn't be an issue if they had a different nickname" is a juvenile response. Like it or not, UND has a nickname/mascot based on a Native American tribe. Opposing fans should tread lightly when making up chants, just as they do when chants start to use swear words or when the chants break the line between innuendo and vulgarity. It's also not as simple as saying "we say the Gophers suck, we should be able to say it about the Sioux". This wasn't a generic chant, it was a specific historical event that was chosen because of their nickname. Just as the students can be given credit for getting clever or cute with good cheers, they can be reprimanded for choosing bad ones. While college students, they're adults and the face of UMD in a public arena. Their actions and words have consequences. I again reiterate the fact that this outrage would have been local or possibly unknown except for the current nickname staus at UND.

Because I'm a polarizing figure and persona non grata on tPB everyone assumes the worst from me because they just see "RWD" and start foaming and the mouth and turn red with violent rage. It's cool, though. That's a lot of power for me to wield.
Don't give yourself so much credit, it's a slow work day.

Re: CC @ tUMD

Back to the hockey games this weekend, any CC fans want to talk about their injuries? CHN has a ton of them listed for this matchup, are all the players out or are they playing hurt?

A lot of those guys played last weekend. More info here

An acquaintance of mine mentioned that Duluth has a nice aquarium. Is it worth a visit?

The aquarium is nice. The fish are disappointing. They are all cold, fresh water species which are rather drab compared to tropical and salt water species. If you are really interested in those species, it is interesting, casual viewers may be bored by it.

Thanks for the link, that's a lot of players looking to come back without a full week of practice. Hopefully UMD can come out flying on Friday before they get their legs back. Also, Scott Owens thinks UMD has a good powerplay? BAHAHAHAHAHA! :D

Skip the aquarium, everyone else does (which is why the city is left holding the tab for that boondoggle).

Re: CC @ tUMD

Scott Owens must be reading last years stats. Our PP is nothing like the beast it was last year. IIRC our PP is down only 4% from last year (24 to 20%).

Re: CC @ tUMD

CC is very banged up. To make matters worse they have played poorly the second half of the season.

Bulldogs sweep:

Friday UMD 8, CC 1.

Saturday UMD 6, CC 0.

Wow, and I'm making the trip all the way from Colorado Springs to witness it. Oh well, I hear the beer is good, and cheap!

I heard there wasn't going to be any flooding in North Dakota this year. Guess that's not the case in tSprings:p

If Elin Woods can beat up Tiger, then UMD can sweep the Tigers.

More money than sense, eh?

I'm going to sit at home, drink even cheaper beer, and hope for a split. Besides, it's irrelevant at this point. Either we win in St. Paul or we're done.

(I'd rather play Anchorage, Mankato, or Wisconsin in the first round - at home, I'll add - than Bemidji, St. Cloud, or Tech, but that's hardly something to cheer for.)

It all depends on what your looking for, The Aquarium is a great learning tool about everything that is "great lakes" and is built around the spicies that make up this area. So if you like Saltwater fish and sharks ect. this is not the place for you. That being said its worth a stop in, IMO.

I still love that nothing came of her smashing his back window and beating him over the head with a 9 iron. Cheating spouse or not, that's assault with a deadly weapon.

And the Bulldogs don't need a 9-iron, they have Jack :)

No doubt Tiger could have pressed chargers, but why would Tiger want the truth out there?

What bodes well for UMD is that CC has struggled in its last 3 or four games, while UMD has not lost in its last three. I am feeling more confident in a sweep the more CC fans talk. Hopefully UMD can solve Thorny the Goalie.

Re: CC @ tUMD

Don't forget that Saturday's games will be pushed back to 7:37 because of HS hockey. CC fans, that's the ticket. If you can, take in some MN HS hockey.

Re: CC @ tUMD

Not many better days than Section 7AA semi day in Duluth. Too bad there is no GR or CEC... could lack the usual chaotic environment this time around.

Other than double header 2AA - 6AA finals at Mariucci, which often has 4 teams in it who are all better than three of the 4 at Duluth. :p

That is the other. I grew up on the 2AA/6AA section finals then moved to Duluth and experienced the 7AA semis. I'll have to rock Mariucci again this year since I'm back in the cities... cmon Holy Angels upset!

Re: CC @ tUMD

Having a great time in Duluth, already been to Silver Bay, Superior, and a dozen other places. Go Tigers!!
