Good news/bad news. Good news: Denver leads 1-0. Bad news: with the shots being 22-4 Denver should have a bigger lead.

Miami wins in OT 4-3. A Denver wins vaults it past Duluth into fourth place in the NCHC and would give the Pios a shot at home ice in the conference playoffs.

Old Pio Anecdote Alert: back in the day, CC was pretty consistently awful every year. Usually they were in competition with Minnesota for last place in the WCHA (although UMD occasionally made an effort). CC began the long slog to mediocrity and beyond when they hired Bob Johnson.

Could be a most productive weekend: season sweep of CC, moving into position to earn home ice for the NCHC playoffs, moving to 7th in the PWR. I'm looking forward to seeing the Miami series.
