Re: Campaign XXVI: The Drumpf World Order

Only a Trumper would support Wisconsin...the proof is there is never a black man to be found in the stands only on the field ;)

Minnesotans take pride in a history this is even more exclusive. You have to be one of them to play. ;)

Now they even let Michigan immigrants on the team. I mean Geez Louise, they just had a kid from Wisconsin as Captain.

When is Lucia going to Make Minnesota Great Again?!

Looks like Nancy Pelosi may be a casualty. She may be a loony lefty, but she knew how to herd cats.

Yeah, it's only fair to note that, even with conflicts of interest in mind, a banker is probably a good pick for treasurer, a consultant from a comms company has a certain logic to it for FCC roles, etc.

But the lobbyists and career politicians are a pretty blatant departure from his rhetoric.

It's all a bit of a Catch-22. On the one hand you have a Jimmy Carter approach: Put a bunch of outsiders with no Washington experience in charge of stuff to clean up Washington. Which sounds good, but as it turned out, the Peanut Gallery didn't understand how to get anything done inside the beltway and was largely ineffective at accomplishing anything at all.
On the other hand you have something like Roosevelt putting the ultimate inside trader, Joe Kennedy, in charge of the newly formed SEC to clean up all the corruption Joe himself used to become one of the richest men in America. Which actually worked out pretty well. Perhaps because, while Joe already had money, he wanted power and doing a good job was another step toward getting more of it. But irrespective of the reason it was still a successful case of using a crook to catch a crook. It may be the best way, but only if you keep a tight leash or have leverage on the crook-catching crook. I don't suppose we have anyway of knowing if that's the case in any of this upcoming administration. Certainly our political experience of the past tells us it seldom has been.

Pelosi isn't even hard left. She is mainstream liberal -- a member of the Democratic wing of the Democratic party. She would have been very comfortably a California Republican when Reagan was president.

I am loony left.

Bernie is hard left.

Pelosi is mainstream liberal.

Obama is mainstream left-center.

Are we witnessing the Tea Partyization (? Bernization) of the Democratic party? It's got a lot of similarities IMO.
