Consider the coasts. They own it and with California and NY, that's a good head start. The EV totals for the GOP and Conservatives seems a bit far fetched.

A for effort, D- for quality in that article. I like the idea of 4 distinct parties but adding Republicans and conservatives you get 323 electoral votes??? The GOP + Conservatives haven't hit 300 electoral votes since 1988!

CA I'll give you. NY is only liberal in NYC -- the rest of the state is either corporate con (Long Island, Westchester, Albany) or social con (the rest of upstate except Ithaca).

Conservatives define "liberal" as left of Reagan. I define it as supporting a 90% top marginal tax rate. The truth is somewhere in the between, but liberals have virtually zero representation in Congress. Bernie, Liz, Al, Sherrod on alternate Thursdays, that's about it.

EDIT: But seriously, c'mon Kepler. Outside of the Ivy League (and within your hallowed halls as well, but to a slightly smaller extent, I hope), it's a given that the majority of these campus buildings get named after the wealthiest donors, not the summa cum laude grads.

The corruption doesn't phase me. As you say, in MoneyWorld that's a given. Until such time as we revive the national razor, that will not be changing.

I'm just amazed at how the righties keep coming up with these morons. Reagan, Quayle, Dubya, Palin, Perry -- the list is unending. It's as if as a culture they've completely rejected intellect, which is sad since it's the opposite of how Burke et al. started out.

In a just world, the right would be a bulwark of intelligence against the mob; as we have it here today, the right is the quintessence of the mob.

It's mostly myth. Quayle and GW were comparative scholars to most of us, and Reagan and Palin were at least of average IQ. It's the thing where "dailykos.com" et al keep pounding on what complete retards every Republican is until something happens that they have to dig out the "evil genius" label. It's all caricature.
But with liberal politicians like Barry, in the press they're always portrayed as super-intelligent no matter what the evidence tells us. It's intentionally built myth.

Conservatives tend to embrace stupidity as a sign of authenticity and "regular guy" status! :D That's how they all talked themselves into George W Bush. :eek:

For the record, Mitt Romney is a brilliant man. Just not in anything that would have made him a good President.

The condescension of Republican political leaders to Republican voters has always made me chuckle. Here you have a group of boobs bristling with hatred at anyone who uses correct grammar, and a bunch of millionaire Harvard and Yale grads who can tap that just by faking a southern drawl. These guys feed their pets better than their voters can feed their children, yet they are guaranteed 40% of the popular vote off the top by deliberately acting stupid. That's what they think of their own supporters.

What was it, 9 of 10 GOP prez candidates said they didn't believe evolution last time? I guarantee every one of them was lying, unless Santorum was there -- he actually is that dumb.
