Campaign 2016 - Primary season! Duck (questions) season!

Re: Campaign 2016 - Primary season! Duck (questions) season!

One wonders how a rising star with a brain attaches itself to a mindless robot.

She did the right thing with the flag in SC. I haven't heard anything else about her, good or bad, which given the insanity that generally spews forth from Republican governors could be a sign of some independence of judgment.

Picking Rubio just means declaring herself with the Establishment against the barbarians, which is a good place to be for RNC goodies and favors.

Conservatism of mainstream media, TF

It's not crazy but it is overbroad.

"Conservative" in the sense of being beholden to their corporate masters, sure. The memo from HQ is to either laugh at Bernie, patronize him and call him Utopian, or hint at dark chaos if he wins (sometimes all three in the same broadcast). The fix is definitely in for Hillary and her Goldman pals on issues involving fiscal and monetary policy and campaign financing.

On other elements of policy (social programs, Forever War, etc) I agree the mainstream media is not "conservative."

If you're going to develop a persecution complex, can you at least add some variety to the mix? This the same tired old BS you've been spouting for a year. The mainstream press is giving Bernie a free ride while trying to take down his opponent. Most people would kill for that kind of coverage.

Also, if the fix is in for Hillary, but its also in for the Republicans, aren't the fixers working at cross purposes?

From Wall Street's POV there is little difference between Hillary or a mainstream Republican winning. Trump and Cruz are wildcards and Bernie is an avowed enemy, so they are to be avoided, but Hillary's going to get nothing but rose petals from the banksters.

You sure do an awful lot of kneejerk reaction to be calling somebody else on a "persecution complex."

Because you Sanders supporters keep trotting out the same old slop that we've been hearing since April when he joined the race. Here's a newsflash:

1) Bernie gets the best media coverage of anybody on either side. Few mainstream outfits have focused on the massive tax increases he's proposing, nor how his plans don't even attempt to add up.

2) But, he gets media coverage. Anybody who wins one of the first two primaries is going to get media coverage. To say differently is absurd.

3) Everybody who doesn't agree with every one of Sanders proposals isn't necessarily a member of the Corporate Oligarchy.

Is there any part of this that you don't agree with?

No. Trump gets the best media coverage. By far. And the tax increase argument is laughable. Look at all the crap the Republicans have been buying since 2000. You can buy a lot of Bernie's stuff with all that Republican cash that's been blown on hookers and blow the last 16 yrs.

Trump gets the worst media coverage. Even worse than Hillary and that's saying something. When he finished 2nd in Iowa, somehow the media anointed 3rd place Rubio the winner and Trump was finished. Funny how that worked out.

The two people getting the worst press are the two frontrunners. That ought to tell you all you need to know about what people think about the media in this country!

You don't trot slop. You either haul slop or trot out a nag.

Nobody has said anything about Clinton's supporters. The observation "Hitler has a Hitler mustache" is not the equivalent of "The Hitler Youth all have Hitler Mustaches." In this instance, the observation is Hillary is pals with Wall Street and they aren't worried about her at all. Bernie freaks them out, if only because he is willing to say the emperor has no clothes, and dire predictions of what will happen if we break up the banksters are just so much agitprop to keep the game sweet for them.

The same .001%ers who own the banks own our corporate media. When you own the media you call its tune. You have no trouble recognizing this when it's Fox and the WSJ -- why is it so difficult for you to accept it's also true for ABC and the NYT?

Do you know why Trump has spent next to nothing on his campaign? I rest my case.

Kep, Bernie Sanders is a politician. He's not a God. He's been in Congress for 25 years and has shown little ability to get things done in that time. Unlike say Ted Kennedy who got a lot done in that time. That isn't because of our Corporate Overlords. Its because he apparently isn't very good at building coalitions to get stuff passed. Not a good trait to have if he's going to be President.

These are bitter words, but Scooby is right. Trump know the only rule of being a celebrity is "there is no such thing as bad publicity." The media giants are doing his work for him because they have to -- Trump is the pet rock craze of 2016.

The only question is will the circus last all summer? Starting to look like it.

Last all summer? He may win the prize.

Guys, you do realize that the X-Files wasn't a documentary, right? Right?

If you think Hillary Clinton is going to be able to work with this bunch of Republicans I've got a can't lose vacation property opportunity to sell you.

Even if they wanted to compromise with her, these Republicans have whipped their supporters into a frenzy for thirty years that this woman is an actual demon spawned to kill baby Jesus and outlaw NASCAR. She has zero chance to build coalitions outside the Democratic party, which means unless we take the Senate and go to the nuclear option on budget bills we will be operating on CRs punctuated by Cruzian operatic stoppages for her entire administration.

I noticed you skipped over the part about how Sanders has been in Congress for 25 years but has yet to get much passed (again, unlike Kennedy) or deploy his vast progressive army to help elect fellow liberals. What exactly was he waiting for Kep?

Re: Campaign 2016 - Primary season! Duck (questions) season!

Another great Trump quote from today.

“You’re lucky I didn’t run the last time when Romney ran because you would have been a one-term president,” Trump said.

Someone in the Hillary campaign is probably telling Obama to shut up about now.

Yes, just as you skipped my statement. Not responding to something isn't the same as agreeing to it. Crowing afterwards that this is somehow a victory is just an attempt to dominate an argument by insisting on controlling its ground. There's a name of this tactic (I mean, other than "dickishness") but I can't find it.

It's a cross between this and this.

Come back when you've backed up your assertion.

This makes sense but I'm not sure anyone knows what being conservative means(or at least what I think it means).
