Campaign 2016 - Primary season! Duck (questions) season!

Re: Campaign 2016 - Primary season! Duck (questions) season!

That's one hell of a Rubio endorsement. No wonder Mitt lost.

Frankly I don't see why everyone on the right just doesn't go all in on Trump. Really its not a matter of his stance on issues that worries them. Its his style. Well, his style is 1000% more interesting apparently than everybody else combined running for the GOP nomination, coupled with record crowds and record turnout. So, what's the real problem? My guess is its because he's a total wildcard. I completely agree, but if you're a wingnut you can support a wildcard who agrees with you most of the time or get a Hilly/Bernie Prez who agrees with you little to none of the time.

Rubio got his @ ss fed to him by a 400 pound slob who dropped out of the race a week later. He's been overshadowed by a circus clown for the last 6 months. What exactly do people think the Clinton people are going to do to him? Trump can take a punch? Rubio? Not from what I've seen so far.

I think you're mixing up party with political orientation again. It would make no sense for right-oriented voters to go for Trump if Hillary's record is more conservative than his. Which it might be, if Trump had a more visible record (I'm continuing in the assumption that everything they both say about future aims is a self-serving lie). There's no clear evidence of a conservative person in this race.
edit: that is, the presumed Hillary vs. Trump race.

To some extent although those tend to go hand and hand. A lot of people "root for laundry" to use a baseball expression about rooting for a team instead of the individual players who come and go. Trump will attract very little of the Obama coalition even if he finds a populist position that he's to the left of Hillary on (and I can't image what that would be). At the end of the day, one of two people are going to win. Either the Democrat (lets say Hillary) or the Gooper (Trump). If you're a conservative, pick the one who's closer to you on the issues you care about.

A safe assumption. But I can't imagine a social con ever siding with Hillary. A neocon, yes, as she seems just as bloodthirsty and wrongheaded about foreign policy, and just as eager to suckle at the AIPAC teat, as they.

In fact, I don't think neocons are siding with the guy who just spoke The Truth That None Dare Speak at a freakin' GOP debate in the first place, so there is every reason to assume the Washington Institute for Near East Policy fleas might jump onto Hillary's fur if Trumo's the other choice.

"The art of the possible."

For the record, though HRC is a lickspittle at the Goldman boots, I can absolutely see her taking AIPAC's money and then betraying them, and that alone might be reason to vote for her. It might even make Sheldon Adelson assume room temperature,

Republican party support for Trump is becoming clearer

I assumed you were going here.

BTW, no fed is going to quit under Trump. But they're going to so slow-walk every part of every action it'll make these guys look hot foot.

Edit: crap, it looks like it's not obvious from that article, but that period is infamous for citizens who were engaged in law suits selling their homes and moving to the capital where they would sometimes wait decades to have their case tried.

i.e., they were really slooooooooooooooooooooooooooow bureaucrats.

My bad. Joke's not funny if it has to be explained.

So we're voting for a bloodthirsty, wrongheaded, furry, lickspittle. Does politics just seem so gloomy because I got old? I seem to remember admiring presidential candidates in the misty past.

Depends on your point of view. If you can't figure out why voters don't support the dimwitted out of touch brother of the worst President in living memory, or if you think the key to a dynamic future is everybody getting stoned to the bejeezus and worshiping a crotchety old man like they do in good ol' Vermont, then yes this election might be a little depressing.

IF however, you see this as an opportunity to crush this current version of the GOP, cement liberal domination of the courts, and further Obama's policies into a 3rd term, then yes this election is going to be a whole lotta fun! :D

Yeah, but the other guy's worse. And to be honest that's pretty much what every campaign has come down to since Adams met Tom.

I can count on one hand how many candidates, at all levels, I have actually voted for in 35 years of elections, and 40% of those fingers are Obama.

Re: Campaign 2016 - Primary season! Duck (questions) season!

Did anyone else notice the author's picture at the bottom of the article has the same downward smile Cruz has?

It's not as pronounced as Cruz's, and his eyes tell a different tale than Teddy's do.

And then there is that open “O” of the Senator’s mouth that photos capture over and over. I don’t know what to make of it.

Never in my dreams did I ever want to see a politician's O-face.

Because some people choose to actually think as opposed to just blind loyalty? I know crazy concept...
