Yeah, maybe the guy's a jerk but I think it's being a little overblown. The outrage meter is pretty sensitive if you say "Muslim."

I am not voting for the guy anyways, he is a nutjob and I dont agree with any of his views. I am saying if you say stupid stuff about religions it should be the death knell. He should not be saying any religion should disqualify them...

As for the outrage meter...it hasnt even come close to how bad it will be in two months over the Christians being persecuted around Santa-Time

Fiorina said something very interesting when asked about Carson's comments. In the first breath she said he was wrong because the Constitution explicitly bars a religious test, and that our founding principle is to judge the person on their actions and not because of identity. In her very next breath she said personally believes having a faith "makes a better leader." She then reeled off a list of attributes (humbleness, optimism) that have no causal relation with faith. Yes, religion may relate to the way in which you, personally, feel and express these things, but they are also felt and expressed by people of no religion. The depressing thing was it was obvious she had no idea she was being inconsistent, because suspicion of atheism is such a ground state in this country that most believers even fail to notice it.

I appreciate you trying to take cover now, but "doesn't think they should run" (personal preference) is NOT the same as "should NOT BE ALLOWED to run" (what you actually said). Sorry for enjoying this...

Of and just so we are all not confused...I dont think any candidate should say what religion they are nor should their religious beliefs have any basis on whether they can or should run. I believe actual things they do or say should matter, not which invisible man and his book of rules they believe in. (if they believe in one)

She's not living that one down either. You can't tell the world you've seen a murder committed on tape by a well known organization as part of their standard opearting procedures and then not produce the video. An easy follow up question is "Ms Fiorina if this unknown tape is true aren't you advocating everybody in Planned Parenthood be arrested for murder or accessory after the fact?" She now owns it. Dumb move. There's fine line to walk in the GOP primary. Say enough to excite the base, but not something that's going to kill you in the general election. She failed on that count.

Yes, that was a very weird, impolitic moment. I wonder if one of her advisers polluted her talking points with the supposed existence of this snuff film, or if she just made it up on the spot? Either way...

We agree. What if we could get everyone to agree to drop the religious questions and instead focus on the individual candidates, regardless of how their ideals were founded?

I thought that was a defining moment for the new show. Colbert said it as a gentle reprimand but it spoke volumes. And then he proceeded to eviscerate Cruz with questions, but on the merits. And, to be fair, Cruz stuck to the merits and made his case (albeit with political ornamentation, but what are you gonna do, he's a politician running for office).

That was an outstanding interview in every respect. Just as the Biden interview was in very different ways. People should not underestimate or pigeonhole Colbert -- he's something very special.

Nailed it. It was an incredible, yet easily missed moment. You just don't see something like that very often today.

There was no hope. My baby would either die in the womb or shortly after birth. This wasn’t a decision I’d expected to face, but I’m glad it was mine to make.
