Wall Street no give a chit about Bernie. Fat girl hil just crashed biotech with her tweeter :p

That was pretty funny. Whichever Republican hits back at her the hardest over this is the one getting most of his/her $$$ from big Pharma! :D

Re: Campaign 2016 - People lie the most after a hunt, during a war or before an elect

Just got a text. Walker is DONE. Worst campaign ever. I had heard the Koch's had dropped him. That would probably do it right there.

Next off the plank
Gilmore / Pitaki
Pitaki / Gilmore
Jindal
Santorum
Christie

Gotta keep Kasich around as the compromise candidate.

There go all the jobs that would've been created for Walker's fence along the US-Canada border, including the floating one on Lake Superior to separate Wisconsin from Ontario.:D

Walker's parting gift is an autographed photo of Tim Pawlenty. ;)

For what it's worth the Donald is the only one trumpeting ideas (wall, vaccine & hedge fund taxes)

These other schmoes keep telling me how they created jobs and balanced budgets.

Anyone who opens a Wendy's can duplicate that whistle :p

Someone gotta step up and think big or talk big.

Heck, Pocahontas his a better spiel than 13/14th of the repub field :D

Sub Bernie for DT and 13/14th with 3/4th and you get the Dems. :).

Final 4 on the GOP side - DT, iCarly, Kasich and (unknown)

Re: Campaign 2016 - People lie the most after a hunt, during a war or before an elect

Did you all see the picture floating around of Jeb with a group wearing "Republicans for Bernie Sanders" shirts? Made my day :)

Re: Campaign 2016 - People lie the most after a hunt, during a war or before an elect

Poll is up. Pick the top 4 in total committed delegates heading into the convention. Poll closes on 10/5.

Re: Campaign 2016 - People lie the most after a hunt, during a war or before an elect

White House Calls a Spade a Spade

Oh my...

“Now what is also unfortunate is that Mr. Trump isn’t the first Republican politician to countenance these kinds of views in order to win votes. In fact, that is precisely what every Republican presidential candidate is doing when they decline to denounce Mr. Trump’s cynical strategy, because they are looking for those same votes.

Now other Republicans have successfully used this strategy as well. You will recall that one Republican congressman told a reporter that he was David Duke without the baggage. That congressman was elected by a majority of his colleagues in the House of Representatives to the third highest-ranking position in the House. Those same members of Congress blocked immigration reform. Those same members of Congress oppose reauthorization of the Voting Rights Act. Those same members of Congress couldn’t support a simple funding bill because they are eager to defend the confederate flag.

So those are the priorities of today’s Republican Party. And they will continue to be until someone in the Republican Party decides to summon the courage to stand up and change it.”

This should go over well...totally right but oh man!

I figured I should post this in the politics thread rather than the tv thread.

Colbert actually admonished the crowd tonight when they started heckling Cruz. I like him.

You like Cruz? ;)

Haven't seen a ton of Colbert since the move. But has he lost his edge? He's lost all his schticks and his writing seems pretty light. He may be a good likeable guy, but without that stuff he's almost more bland than other night show hosts.

But it's Cruz, he's trying to shut down the government over a known lie about planned parenthood, he'll **** over the economy once again just for political grandstanding, and is in general lower than pond scum. Only reason Colbert should have quieted hecklers is because he was going to turn him inside out on being a lying ****bag.

Re: Campaign 2016 - People lie the most after a hunt, during a war or before an elect

Or he recognizes that you don't need to agree with someone to be courteous. Just a thought.

Re: Campaign 2016 - People lie the most after a hunt, during a war or before an elect

So Ben Carson thinks that a presidents religion should matter and that if it doesnt square with he Constitution they should not allowed to run for office. Has this nutjob actually read the Constitution?

Really don't see Fiorina going far. She's a lamestream media created candidate with no base in the GOP. Kasich I think goes the way of Huntsman much like Walker did the Pawlenty thing. That leaves...hmmm...Trump, Cruz, Carson, and Jebbers! all make it past Super Tuesday/SEC Primary.

I might be wrong but I think Carson's basic comment is that he wouldn't support, and he doesn't believe we should elect, a Muslim to serve as President. I'm not sure he ever said Muslims should be barred from running for that office on the basis of their religion, something which clearly seems unconstitutional.

What Carson said is literally no different than what was being said by many powerful people in this country 55 years ago. People have a right to question whether the President's strings are being held by the pope, a greedy catholic businessman from Hyannis Port, a mullah from the middle east, or just the wall street guys we already know about, and then vote accordingly.

Isn't that really our prerogative, as voters?

Re: Campaign 2016 - People lie the most after a hunt, during a war or before an elect

I thought that was a defining moment for the new show. Colbert said it as a gentle reprimand but it spoke volumes. And then he proceeded to eviscerate Cruz with questions, but on the merits. And, to be fair, Cruz stuck to the merits and made his case (albeit with political ornamentation, but what are you gonna do, he's a politician running for office).

That was an outstanding interview in every respect. Just as the Biden interview was in very different ways. People should not underestimate or pigeonhole Colbert -- he's something very special.
