Stiffing your staff and vendors is a time honored tradition with politicians. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, it appears across party lines. I'm not sure what it says about the greed to be close to power (and potentially cash in) that causes people to work for these hucksters (i.e. politicians).

Yeah, that very well could be the case. I would be more shocked if it wasn't.

She just has a track record of doing this in and out of politics. She really seems like a scumbag corporate thug.

2012 proved the GOP doesn't blanch at making the face of the 1% its standard bearer. It will probably help her in the nomination.

I've always said this about any made up scandal. Why wouldn't you want public hearings if you thought you had the goods on someone? Also, why wouldn't you want hearing as soon as possible if you had any inkling that you had a strong case? Remember when the IRS thing was supposed to take down Obama? I see this one going the same way, especially since we've already had House committees investigating it. At some point, you need to put up or shut up.

Having visited many a country I've no doubt you could pull that off anywhere there are 'free' elections. And didn't a once former leader shoot a round of 18 a few years back? People here are just as clueless about the process and I'd say expats are several times more enraged by what happens locally than those allowed to vote. David Gahan likes to say people are people.
