Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

Wasnt the entire Iraq War Pay for Play?

So Comey is just all in now I guess...he realizes he is screwed on November 9th according to the numbers so he is just leaking everything? How can he possibly defend the stance of "dont influence the Election" when he now has had 3 pretty serious blunders/leaks all against one candidate while shielding the other?

I would say Congress should look into it, but they are busy drafting Articles of Impeachment.

Oh and by the way...all this comes from Wikileaks. The FBI is now the investigative branch of the Russian Government.

That's not entirely fair. Some of it came from here.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

yeah it is. you vote for these kinds of *******s

Everybody else's elected representatives suck. Except for yours(the generic 'yours'). They're awesome, and deserve re-election.

If only everyone else was as smart as you, and vote out their crappy representatives, maybe we'd get somewhere.

Speaking of that one of the news shows was reporting polls that had Ron Johnson back in the race. Don't underestimate the stupidity of Wisconsin.

Not really. We've isolated the stupidity to one party. It's unfortunate that it's come to that, but it's their own doing.

I usually wouldnt agree with this...but right now the facts definitely support it. (my GOP friends grudgingly agree)

Closed Circuit to the FBI: Facts are things you use/find in the course of investigations to try and bring justice...

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

This was in our local paper today, a letter to the editor. Read this, and you see how deeply the brain-washing goes among the right wing.

Lies and corruption, coupled with a coddling corrupt media (e.g. Benghazi, emails and the Clinton Foundation) dominate the history of Hillary Rodham Clinton. The litany of her campaign shows her past will be duplicated indefinitely into her future.

Absolute and iron clad, a president’s word must be his or her bond. Anything less, even a smidgeon, puts our freedom at an unacceptable risk. Hillary fails miserably to pass muster. Donald Trump passes muster with ease.

There's a lot of people on the left who recognize Hillary isn't a great candidate, recognize her flaws. don't really like her personally and wish someone else had been the nominated candidate. But they also recognize her abilities and experience, especially when compared to the alternative. There is nobody on the left who have deluded themselves so about their options, unlike many on the right, as this letter demonstrates.

And I'm just dumbfounded that anyone can listen to anything Donald Trump says, and then still write a letter like that with no sense of embarassment or shame. That is what Hillary is up against.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

You mean a guy who is going to be on trial for Fraud later this month, is also being investigated for possible rape and who has lied more in one debate than most candidates do in a career isnt trustworthy?

People don't think Trump is lying. They think he's just being strong. This is the Republicans game. They come to any political discussion with their own set of facts. The Dems (to their detriment, but now perhaps finally to their benefit) have never been able to pull that gambit off.

You're reading a letter from the 42%. They may dwindle over time but they'll never change.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

Throw in Pro Drumpfers burning a Black Church and you just motivated a base that was looking to possibly stay home.

.

C'mon. Haven't you seen the tape of Hillary scrawling "Vote for Trump" on the side of that church with a spray can, while Podesta was splashing the gas on it, and Sdney Blumenthal was lighting the torch?

Dont give the FBI any ideas :p

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

I'm wondering if in 50 years we're going to look back and think, "Voting for the GOP was a symptom of mental illness in the early part of this century." All the classic signs of mental illness are there.

We are the laughing stock of the civilized world here. I wish I had gone into psychology, sociology, and political science just to be able to write a sort of magnum opus on this election.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

Technically my degree is in Sociology (Law and Criminal Deviance at the U was the Pre-Law Major) and I have thought about writing a paper about the Post 2000 years and specifically the 2008-Present. The backslide by many on Social and Racial issues post Obama Election is very interesting. if you compared it to other "Democracies" it could be a very interesting study.

i'm speaking about anyone that votes for a Republican at this point. I'll be voting against my congressional rep...

And I just saw an ad against Hillary whose tagline was "We can't have someone who's under FBI investigation running for president".

It brings to mind an interview a reporter did with an FBI agent during Watergate. The agent is mad at the Washington Post for still going with the story even after the FBI cleared CREEP and Nixon. He rattles off how many agents were on the case, all the interviews they did, how many records they checked, etc and said it was the most thorough investigation in the history of the FBI. Then the reporter asks if they ever discovered the fact printed in the Post and he matter of factly says, "No, we didn't have that."

What the hell good are you then?

The way the posts are coming (going) this one will fill up before 11/8.

Have at it. I'll see you at the start of Thread XXIV.

Given that this thread is a few posts shy of 1000, quoting the first post of this thread.
