I wonder how Rover's backup plan is coming along. :D

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

I am not going to lie, I am almost at the point I cant joke around about this anymore. We need some good news...

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

Well if he's going to do that why not give Trump Minnesota and New York while he's at it.

I never understand why an Obama won state he's at best tied in (say FL or OH) is put in Trump's column, while a red state that he's tied in.....is put in Trump's column (NC, AZ). Pretty good deal if you can get it. :D

It is a bit strange that a bunch of otherwise silent racists are supposed to rise up and give PA to Trump when they weren't enough to beat the Kenyan Muslin Commie.

Interesting that in the final days the Trumpettes' strategy has been to be as misogynistic as possible. The polls are tightening so maybe they're right. Maybe there is enough crud at the bottom of the American barrel that scraping away at it will be a net positive for them.

Yeah, Dr. Mrs. and I were curled up last night talking about what we'd do. We are both in business lines where a Trump presidency would mean we would almost certainly have to quit. I have no interest in being a Good German.

Ya know, I didn't coin the phrase "Bedwetting Liberals" which is part of the political lexicon now, but occasionally it applies.

Races always tighten towards the end. The underdog is always "within striking distance" (cue the ominous music). Before needing to change your undies, once again keep an eye on early voting and remember two things: 1) Based on 2012 Dems have a 5M vote cushion, even higher when new voters are factored in, and 2) unless Trump starts winning educated voters by Romney margins at least, there aren't enough old angry uneducated white guys to put him over the top.

It's not just trump- he's got a PAC here in Michigan who is running ads against Suzanna Shkeri pointing out that she's the "establishment" candidate, being evil and all- and the only two other people being picture in the ad is Hillary Clinton (which makes some sense, running for President), and Nancy Pelosi. No other Democrat leader is pictured anywhere on the ad. Not Harry Ried- who is quoted FAR more than Ms Pelosi is, not Steny Hoyer who is Pelosi's #2, not Pat Leahy who is Ried's #2.

And while few of us can get solid answers of the Hillary Hate, I've got no idea what so ever why Pelosi is so hated as well.

But there it is- an ad against a women, featuring two other "bad" women.

Nobody even notices it, it seems to me.

How women justify this is beyond me.

Today's RCP No Toss Up Map has the Entire Fate of the Free World left to the whims of people in "Live Free" New Hampshire or "Free Hemp" Colorado.

I've been to both on occasion and that's seems a bit of a frightening prospect no matter who you are.

At their morning coffee junkets in 2008 and 2012 they'd decided he couldn't win (or win again) so they stayed home. Will they stay home the third time?

Like I said, 2016 comes down to who actually shows up.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XXIII: The Penultimate Thread

Can you just imagine the guffaws that erupted in the Clinton power center last year when some poor ignorant schmuck suggested they should cast Trump as an actual, living, breathing, 100% honest-to-god Russian Nazi?

Well they're not laughing now I bet, as it seems clear that guy is in charge of the campaign!

Yeah he himself has done nothing to deserve that characterization

RCP's map has been consistently more pro-Trump than any of the aggregators who try to rate pollsters based on their methodology. To them, Rasmussen (C+) or LA Times (not even a true poll) are weighted equally with ABC/WaPo (A+) and Fox News (A), and no house effect is considered. (538 pollster grade in quotes)

Here are the most recent (through 10/25) national polls from outlets which have at least an A- on 538:

T +1
C +2
C +4
C +2

She can't afford to drop much more without causing serious anxiety (and maybe a stock market crash), but she's still OK. using Polls Plus, her worst of the three scenarios at the moment, she's still at 68.2%. She does need to pull out of her dive.

And all you little bastids and your family and friends need to vote. This is it, Kittens. It's up to you to stop the American Reich before it starts.

Ironically, markets are declining because of the tightening race. They are nervous about tdon. So it would suck if they go down, and his numbers go up because it it.

It isnt the tightening that is bugging me...I knew it would get "close" because that is all part of the script. What isnt though is X-Factors like the FBI and whatever is going on with them. That doesnt pass the smell test and it is gettig me worried. Not Scooby worried or anything...but more on edge than I was on Friday.

All I want is some good news to remind me this isnt Conspiracy Novel :)
