Campaign 2016 Part XII: What Have We Done To Deserve This?

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XII: What Have We Done To Deserve This?

All Donald does is make direct attacks

No, he won't make a direct attack. It'll be like the National Enquirer with Cruz: " I see there's some talk out there about Hillary sticking by her man while he was out raping young women. Now, I'm not saying it's true, but people are talking about it, and it raises some questions that deserve answers"

That's how he starts, but a week later on the stump he'll be yelling "Hillary should be in jail as an accessory after the fact!"

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XII: What Have We Done To Deserve This?

That's not what I said. I said I would have gone to jail for using a personal email for classified information. And I would have.

What if it wasn't classified when you sent it?

Exactly. And Drumpf will be screaming, "I didn't start it, i didn't bring this up, but her conduct is extremely troubling".

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XII: What Have We Done To Deserve This?

When I dealt with classified in the mid to late 1990s if I'd have handled it the way Mrs. Clinton handled classified I'd just be getting out of jail.

I'm not sure this is true. It seems like the consensus of attorneys is that to go to the clink you need a "PLUS X" that admits a reasonable suspicion that there was an intent to harm national security. So, the guy who takes home TS SCI papers and rolls around in them on his rec room floor in a diaper and mouse ears gets fired and fined, but if he does that and makes a personal call at the Israeli embassy with a "commercial attache," he goes in the hole.

One of the best tactics was actually pioneered not by Trump but by Fox News. Run a story that says "a source has speculated that X." The source is unnamed and you've included "speculation" so you have done everything truthfully even if five minutes before airing one Fox employee says to the other, "Hey Fred, I wonder if X."

Now your "speculation" is out there and you wait for one of your pals in Congress to say "if true, this concerns me," or even an enemy who responds angrily decrying your rumor-mongering. But now the trap snaps shut, because you have public figures on the record talking about a story you whipped up in the lunch room waiting for your burrito to reheat, so the next night you can go on the air with "mounting controversy concerning X!"

Fox runs with this strategy so often they should rename their network after it.

I already asked Sic to put up and instead of telling us where Hillary disclosed national secrets I got some odd comparison between nuclear codes and writing mortgages for the feds. Suffice to say, there's nothing there in terms of Hillary's e-mail. Odd that a Prez and its administration outs a CIA agent for political reasons, and a retired general/CIA director knowingly passes along classified info to his mistress for a book, and no charges. Yet this is a federal beef? Huh.

Regarding Hillary & Sanders, the fact that there is one last primary after tonight (DC next Tuesday) give the perfect amount of time for a cooling off period. I don't expect Sanders to concede tonight or tomorrow. He may still put out defiant statements. No need to get into a back and forth with the man. Here's how I'd like to see this play out:

1) Hillary declares victory tonight, makes note of historic aspect of her candidacy, thanks Sanders for pushing the envelope and rips Trump a new one once again. Nothing about how Sanders should quit immediately, but a blurb about party unity will be nice. Also mention that DC deserves the right to have their voices heard/

2) Hillary lines up all Super Delegates, including some who are already pledged to Sanders. This snuffs out any notion of getting Supers to switch to Sanders.

3) Get endorsements planned and rolled out in an orderly fashion. #1 is Obama. #2 is Warren. I'd also have them announce either this week or maybe after DC is done.

Sanders can figure out his own endgame, but if you have Warren's endorsement in your corner as well as all Supers accounted for he has no avenue for mayhem. Let him write the party platform if that keeps him happy. He's earned that much.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XII: What Have We Done To Deserve This?

If Mrs. Clinton has no email problem, why doesn't she do what the Minneapolis Star-Tribune has asked her to do?

It’s bad enough that Clinton continually refuses news interviews on the topic, but to decline to talk with the inspector general charged with investigating her conduct, even as she is asking Americans to elevate her to this nation’s highest office, is unconscionable.

This was no GOP witch hunt. It was a review directed by Clinton’s own successor, John Kerry, a fellow Democrat.

They're declaring it now so the "winner" can go to the Bilderberg conference in Germany next week to receive marching orders. After all, they don't want Trump in office.

Cause she doesn't have to?

Whatever happened to "innocent until proven guilty"? You haven't even got her charged with a crime yet.

Is that part of NWA? NWO? I get those two confused all the time.

It's part of a normal review that "three previous secretaries of state willingly submitted to interviews about their own practices: Colin Powell, Madeline Albright and Condoleezza Rice, as well as Kerry."
