Campaign 2016 Part XII: What Have We Done To Deserve This?

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XII: What Have We Done To Deserve This?

OK, pardon my resident alien non-voting ignorance, but what is "slimy" about having to prove you are a citizen in order to vote? If that's not a requirement, which I believe it always has been, what's stopping me from walking into a polling station, producing my legally obtained SocSec card and demanding a ballot?

So you're OK with a federal official unilaterally overwriting state election forms with no process nor legislative input?

Good to know.

Conservative principles. Not situational at all...

Actually, I think it makes sense. But there are ways of making it less difficult to vote (like markers on your drivers license); difficulty seems to the GOP approach.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XII: What Have We Done To Deserve This?

It's not the opinion of all of us on the right, but are you willing to admit that voter apathy and ignorance is rampant across this country?

I am, especially among the uber-liberal youth. My parents have a gay friend (I know it's cliche, but it's legit - Dad hired him as a direct care worker 30-35 years ago and employed him for quite some time - bear with me). He has lived in California for many years now. He's a big Bernie guy, and recently hosted a bunch of 20-somethings at a "Register to Vote" party at his home. According to his story, he explained the importance of the upcoming election, and implored all the young-ins to register. He told my mom that at the end of the night, he had no applicants.

Rampant might be too soft a word. I am not defending the populace (as I tend to think most voters are friggin idiots...I am a cynic ;) ) I am trying to get rid of excuses people and makes the system look bad.

Let me put it this way...as it is the Left has an easy talking point each election cycle about how the system is rigged and obviously everyone would vote if they just had the access. (and that is true of a certain percentage but not even close to a majority of nonvoters) If you give them that access, you take away that excuse and make the system at least appear on the level.

Seriously...dayumm. I'd consider being James Carville to her Mary Matalin, even if it meant a one-term Cruz presidency and eventual divorce. :p

Guerra looks really old for only being 28. Trying to defend and sell a scummy man to the public will do that for you, I guess.

Identification is supposedly racist. Also, with the advent of technology, which will be used to ensure the ID is valid, what's to stop a government insider from disenfranchising voters by "suspending" identifications around election time?

I have not heard Hillary's San Diego speech yet but apparently everybody, even hard core conservatives, says she hit it out of the park. Michael Steele, who preceded Reince Priebus in the role of "RNC PR BS" (though his name is sadly only MCHL STL when you remove the vowels, which looks like an obscure UP hockey league and team), declared it as brilliant.

Here is the speech in full.

While I am sure the speech is great...Steele's opinion means very little to me about it. The guy is and was a stooge.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XII: What Have We Done To Deserve This?

Yes Hillary gave Trump a bare knuckled beat down in her speech on foreign policy, basically using his own words to mock him as a total idiot. Its only going to get worse for The Donald from here.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XII: What Have We Done To Deserve This?

Well the COEXIST crowd is living up to their bumper stickers in San Jose tonight, swarming on isolated Trump rally attendees in order to hurl their insults, hurl their eggs and also their fists.

This guy is going to fark around and get himself elected. And it'll be because of people like this. He plays the media like a fiddle.

Yeah, and she'd be home free if she weren't such a narcissistic idiot as to use her own private email server while secretary of state.

Donald Trump: Republican Presidential Candidate Says Hillary Clinton 'Has to Go to Jail'
"Folks, honestly, she's guilty as hell," Trump said Thursday about Clinton's use of a private email server during her time as secretary of state. Clinton discussed foreign policy earlier that day.

Re: Campaign 2016 Part XII: What Have We Done To Deserve This?

The point is he's a stooge the other way. Steele's job is to gussy up the GOP image and tear down the Dems -- he's still at it, he's just being paid by advertisers now rather than the RNC. He is clearly not happy with Trump as the nominee but he still can't afford to alienate the righty listeners who tune in to hear their worldview reinforced. So I thought it was actually significant that he conceded it was a great speech (albeit saying it in the context "there is no way she will keep to that tone...")

The email server is another BENGHAZI!!!11! The only people who care are the ones who burn her in effigy every morning before breakfast anyway.

Think of all the "scandals" that were "going to destroy the Obama administration!" We're going to have 4 or 8 more years of that stuff, cuz it's all the right has anymore.

If this election comes down to scandal vs scandal Hillary wins, because at worst they'll wash out, but more likely through Trump's reaction to the airing of his issues he will destroy himself. Trump's pattern of bluffing and lying is so obvious now the way to beat him is to quote him. Then he'll lie and you rebut him, like they did in real time on Nip Nukes. He'll wind up arguing with himself and look like someone on the witness stand continually perjuring himself. And as he attacks the media the media will fight back.

Scooby, only a simpleton thinks the GOP wouldn't have invented something else, anything else, if Clinton had never used a private e-mail address. That goes for Sanders too if he was the nominee. The trick is to stop playing into their hands. Goopers love people like you!

Vince Foster is waiting on line 1.

Maybe I know too much about it cause of all the reading I've done but this isn't another Benghazi. Benghazi would still be a real scandal and part of this election if during Hillary's 8 hours of questioning they'd actually landed a blow.

The email thing is landing blows all the time. If she's cleared by the FBI then, yeah, she's clear. If she's not then there's trouble.
