Great. That was the *ONLY* car that Ford was going to have in their lineup that didn't have a pony on the badging.

So, Ford will effectively have in the 2019/2020 vehicle lineup:
Cars -

Performance Cars -
Mustang (and it's variants)

SUV's -
Ecosport
Escape
Edge
Flex
Explorer
Expedition

Trucks & Vans -
F150 (and it's variants)
Ranger (and it's variants)
Transit Connect
Super Duty (and it's variants)

Guess what people not affected with the liberal pathogen drive...

It's called a smart business decision.

Not a bad looking car. The previous version looked good too, but still lacking in the driveability and fun aspect as compared to a Mazda 3, until you got up into the ST versions, which I believe were upwards of $35,000. That's a lot to pay to get a small car that can actually perform.

The US actually has had a long standing 25% tariff on foriegn light truck classes of vehicles - SUVs, pick up trucks.

Guess who's always paid much more for their vehicles than they should due to big govt tariffs? You and 'people not affected with the liberal pathogen drive'. Notably its called the chicken tax. :)

Logic will not work with flaggy, 5mn. Infowars screens his calls.

Toyota Yaris.

However, Johnson's tariff looks mostly to things like the Dodge Dakota and the Ford Ranger. Actually doesn't hit the F150 or the Ram, possibly why most of them (at least in NYS) you see with commercial plates.

SUVs: BMW, GM, Ford crossovers. Not sure of their status today. There is no question that US consumers are hurt by forced domestic production. Global trade occurs because it more greatly benefits everyone involved. This fact has the agreement of economists and business leaders to an extent that is on par or even possibly exceeding similar support of global warming by scientist specialists.

If you want to take a look at the status relative to tariffs, perhaps you should do a survey of how often you see that sort of vehicle.

Nobody's saying completely get rid of global trade. What's being stated is that we want two way streets with fiscally neutral deals (or surplus if we can get it, but neutral's a good goal for both parties). No more huge deficits.

Judging by the tax legislation, this administration LOVES huge deficits.

97.5% of goods imported by Canada from the US are duty free. And yet Red Don has chosen them to be his trade arch enemy. Explain that.

That's exactly the point. There aren't hardly any imported light trucks when there should be tons like there are cars (Honda alone imports 76,000 cars a year). The fact that there are so few means I can guarantee you that you're paying far more than you should for your pick up, SUV.

There are no televisions produced in this country. Trump is contemplating a 25% tariff on imported TVs. That would represent a 25% percent increase in the price of TVs - and fewer bought - and will push inflation up.

Not true. Coal and steel tariffs were introduced without any preconditions, resulting from any retribution and has not been tied to any solution. Those tariffs have already done far more damage to US consumers and American companies that source coal and steel than foreigners as domestic producers simply raised prices.

I don't think foreigners care about coal and steel tariffs; they love the fact that our own tariffs are destroying American companies they compete with.

The Ford Transit Connect is well known for blatantly circumventing the Chicken Tax. It is currently ONLY produced in Valencia, Spain and to import it into the US, it is shipped with functioning passenger seats loosely bolted to the interior (but no other interior passenger cladding). Upon arrival on the US shore, the vehicles are passed through customs as "passenger cars," then the seats are unbolted and destroyed, freeing up the vehicle for it's intended use as a light duty truck.

The Ford Ranger - (not the 2019 version) has been in production for well over a decade at Rayong, Thailand; Silverton, South Africa; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Hai Duong, Vietnam. Unavailable to be imported into the US thanks to the Chicken Tax. Also of note, the overall length, height, and wheelbase dimensions of the 2019 Ford Ranger (of which is based off the international version) are identical to a 2001 F150 regular cab long box.

While the Ford Ranger is scheduled to make a return, the Dodge Dakota isn't returning any time soon, even though their parent company makes the Fiat Fullback, a Dakota/Ranger/Tacoma sized truck that would be perfect in the US, but not available for import, again thanks to the Chicken Tax.

Volkswagen was originally one of the targets of the Chicken Tax because of a truck based on the VW Rabbit platform. They currently make the Volkswagen Amarok, a small pickup truck that is not available to be imported into the US.

Mercedes-Benz makes a small sized pickup named the X Class Pickup, that is not available to be imported into the US.

Toyota makes another small truck (slightly smaller than the Tacoma) named the Toyota Hilux which is popular around the world, and once again, not available for import into the US.

GM of Australia used to produce an El Camino type car/pickup called a Ute based on the Holden Commodore platform (similar to the Impala platform in the US). The Commodore Ute was unavailable to be imported thanks to the Chicken Tax.

Re: Business, Economics & Tax Policy 7: Workers of the world unite!

Here's another small pickup truck from Chevrolet that is available to our southern neighbors: The Chevrolet Tornado (globally known as the Montana). A Trax-platform based pickup truck in Mexico that is smaller than the Colorado.

This smaller Colorado type truck is available in Chile: The Chevrolet D-Max.
